  1. Butterfly Zhang Jike Super ZLC Blade Review

Tom is English Top 20 player. Dan does not play competitively, not even local league. But if he did, he would be easy top 100, probably top 50.
  2. Which Is Tiago Apolonia's New Sponsor!?

Easy, it's bound to be Stiga. New Carbonaro blades featuring Textreme carbon inlays plus Airoc rubbers. Stiga is on the warpath........sort of:-)
  3. When to change Blade/Rubbers?

Satisfy your curiosity Many new rubbers and blades have come onto the market over the past 10 years. The main reason for this was the banning of speed-glue which caused manufacturers to develop rubber/blade combinations that best simulate the old speed-glue effect. The most successful is...
  4. Slow starter - most effective warm ups?

That is true for virtually every player. Basically the answer is in your post. You need to get 15-30mins table practice to be at your best. Before that do some dynamic stretches, similar to sprinters. For TT specific, start at neck shoulders down to toes. Pay particular attention to loosening...
  5. Broken blade

I can see that you are like me and also have some blade-damaging habits. There are several hits on that blade but overall it looks quite playable. The simplest thing is to replace the blade and budget to buy a new one every year or so. You could also sell the damaged one on ebay to help offset...
  6. New H3 Neo - Dirt on it won't come off..

Careful. I don't think anyone here said that you should apply it to a new rubber. It may suit you to use it for a month at least or least to when the initial tackiness wears off.
  7. New H3 Neo - Dirt on it won't come off..

Probably. But not enough for you to notice.
  8. Zhang Jike 张继科

ZJK is an awesome player and may go on to be the GOAT of the 40ball era. But, IMO, this video shows again that his gamestyle lacks that bit of flair that MaLong and XuXin display regularly. I don't know what it is but in a couple of those sequences, it's his opponents that look entertaining. ZJK...
  9. Is it possible to switch blades on a bat?

These days I tend to leave quite a bit of overhang on the rubbers. This has 2 main benefits: 1 It allows for the size contraction that rubbers have these days 2 It is a far better collision protection for the blade than sidetape. That is, assuming that the blade is not very thick.
  10. Is Timo Boll using Timo Boll ALC Straight or Flare handle?

It all depends on what is in his Butterfly contract.
  11. Top 10 Craziest Table Tennis Shots of 2014

And why did he miss the point? It's because the superb and unusual return unsettled him. Great point by Aruna, IMO. My top 3 were that, the drop point and XX sidespin shot. The XX shot I've seen before from WLQ and the Aruna return was fantastic. But I think I'll go with the drop shot as we just...
  12. Stiga Infinity VPS V

Viscaria/To5 is great fun but not suitable for most Viscaria +T05 is a fantastic combination for advanced players. It has a very narrow range of operability, that is, the player has to get his stroke just right to be able to get the speed, spin and placement that he wants from his stroke. This...
  13. TeXtreme® Technology by STIGA!

I took your last sentence as a punchline:-) Anyway, I think you are taking the PR stuff too seriously. People (customers) are people. They just like to see something new every now and then whether there's a real benefit or not. Think of it like watching a magician perform. We all go along with...
  14. TeXtreme® Technology by STIGA!

LOL! @Pnachtwey Careful, mate, you are beginning to display a sense of humour.
  15. TeXtreme® Technology by STIGA!

Bingo! now you get it. But, it's very difficult today with the existence of internet discussions to achieve that 'mystification'. But give Stiga's PR gurus for doing a good job. For old guys like me, I remember the mystical appreciation that I had for McIntosh/Klipsch amplifiers/speakers, US...
  16. TTD interview Mats Bandstigen about Textreme blades!

Dan, as good as composite blades are, all of them so far have been too fast for ordinary players like me. Will there be an Stiga allround version?
  17. Ma Long's chop block

The chopblock has been around since tennis was invented 300+ years ago. In other words, where there has been topspin, there has been chop blocks in various forms. They can be subtle like Waldner or outrageous like MaLong and so on.
  18. Ridiculous touch by Waldner (GIF)

I think it was on purpose. I've seen several older players attempting that stroke (or something similar) in knock-up practice or on a net serve. They would hold up their free hand then make the attempt. But this is the first time I've seen it in a match. So I guess they all got it from Waldner.
  19. Rosewood has the new metal logo and tag too!

Hmmm, I wonder if suppliers will now discount their now obsolete non-metal tag blades?
  20. Ridiculous touch by Waldner (GIF)

It might become habit forming and you do it at the wrong time.
