  1. Sad but true, my blade got boring!

Then why change? I think that you simply miss the thrill of getting to grips with new equipment. That's a typical sign of the EJ syndrome.:-)
  2. The best wood blade

American Hinoki WRC 1-ply 9mm. I've owned 3 and played with them for about 4years. Avalox P700 Nittaku Runlox-05. Same as Avalox P500. Darker 7P-2A. Newest acquisition great feeling but handle a bit too narrow as compared to the others. Having got used to the 1-ply, all other blades tend to...
  3. Against New ITTF Plastic Ball

99% o the players that I know are in that remaining 1%
  4. New ball v the old.

The celluloid balls will still be quite legal and available. It will be up to each tournament promoter/local league as to when and where they use the poly balls. Unlike the 38mm balls for which production ceased. More than likely each national association will recommend usage of he poly ball only.
  5. Against New ITTF Plastic Ball

That is only true where the material cost is the main driver of final price to the consumer. Transport by sea is far cheaper than air, btw.
  6. Against New ITTF Plastic Ball

@Tony, 1 When was this vote for the change to a plastic ball? 2 When was there vote to increase the tolerance thus making the ball about 1mm bigger?
  7. Against New ITTF Plastic Ball

    LOL, Good one, Der
  8. Plastic ball review by Ping Skills

When the 40mm balls came in, I immediately noticed the increase in "net balls". That is balls hitting the net and going over. I assume that it has something to do with the increased size of the ball vs the size of the net. When I tried the Palio balls, the frequency increased even more. So one...
  9. Double circle dhs training box where to buy

Most Associations will probably comply for their National tournaments initially leaving their local guys to decide for themselves. Eventually, everyone will be using the new balls, probably.

  11. Stole tableTennis daily video

Good advice but I'd be inclined to stop him stealing the material of others for his own gains.
  12. Double circle dhs training box where to buy

The manufacturers are almost giving away their stocks of celluloid balls in aniticipation of the coming poly balls. Look on eBay for bulk buys of DHS 3 star balls.
  13. Timo Boll Takes On Robot!

Are those for real? They look ominous.
  14. Tools used to cut rubbers

Good advice about the edge tape. I sometimes use a thick tape on the blade before cutting. After cutting, remove the tape and the rubber will have a very small and neat overhang
  15. Pure Wood vs Composite blades

I've ordered it, will arrive this week.:o
  16. pushy parents

I hope you realise that that was said in jest after your 'chastise' comment.:)
  17. Tools used to cut rubbers

Be careful when using a knife as you can actually cut into the blade itself. For a really smooth finish, use sandpaper+block or even a bench grinder if you have really steady hands. Nothing works better.:)
  18. Pure Wood vs Composite blades

You have not stated any good reason why you want to try another blade. Maybe you are simply bored and want to move in a different direction. I understand that. I have about 20 blades, simply because I wanted to try them even though I know that there would be no improvement in my game. I don't...
  19. pushy parents

Jack, ignore what Der_Echte says. He does not understand playing in the UK. My advise, keep your cool and be a gentleman always even if it means apologising when you don't have to. That player and his Dad will grow out of their attitude with time. If both of you keep up your enthusiasm, you'll...
  20. Pips in V/S pips out

@brathey I feel your pain. Win or lose against pips or anti player, I rarely enjoy the match.
