  1. Kim Jung hoon teaches the FH Flick

Sorry to be old Grump but..... I have noticed in the past couple of years that people have been using the word amature as a substitute for amateur. Even the TTD dictionary indicates that it's a wrong spelling. To an old guy like me it really jars badly to see it spelt this way. But I suppose...
  2. Let's talk about seamless plastic ball

Baal, do the ITTF specs for the 40+ state that the balls must be non-celluloid? That is, could a manufacturer make a celluloid ball or poly+celluloid to 40+ specs?
  3. Poly Ball Bounce Heights

Like everything, we adjust. If you agreed to play a hardbat tournament you adjust and don't think about the differences. But there are certain ingrained ways of playing that you never quite can change. To this day, I miss most slow balls on my FH as I have not adjusted to the rate of which the...
  4. Zhang Jike fined 45.000 euros!

You would be surprised about that. The top footballers are paid so much money by their clubs that many don't want to jeopardise their club place by playing in the WC and getting injured. Remember, only 5 clubs or so pay top dollar to all their players. Others want to play the world cup as they...
  5. Poly Ball Bounce Heights

    Follow...........the...........money.......>
  6. Poly Ball Bounce Heights

I haven't played mch with them except for a pack of Joola that I have. I will basically stay away from them until the end of this season in March/April 2015. Baal has become the font of knowledge on the plastic balls. He is a very good player plus is a scientist by profession. so he talks sense.
  7. Poly Ball Bounce Heights

From reports from other posters, If you throw the Nittaku Japanese seamed version into the mix, then we'd have four different characteristics. So it is not just seamed Vs seamless vs celluloid. It is also about engineering excellence and quality control.
  8. Poly Ball Bounce Heights

It shows how bad the ITTF is at establishing equipment standards. Three legal balls, yet three very different characteristics.
  9. Zhang Jike fined 45.000 euros!

The Guardian has reported on it. The Guardian article http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/oct/28/table-tennis-player-zhang-jike-stripped-of-winners-prize-money-for-celebration
  10. Zhang Jike fined 45.000 euros!

You said that a poster said "there is absolutely nothing wrong with breaking barriers after a match". Name me the poster who made that statement. Simple.
  11. Wide shoes

I don't know what it would be for International customers. It is an international brand so check for American sellers, or even a badminton site.
  12. Zhang Jike fined 45.000 euros!

Who said that????? Talk about overeaction. What about yours? Name the posters that said this. Come on...name them.
  13. Zhang Jike fined 45.000 euros!

You've said it all, and so eloquently.
  14. Trouble against a lefty

At my lower level, I am still surprised by the fact that so many lefties don't like serves into their bodies. Try it. Simply stand in the middle and using a BH serve, swerve the ball into them or BH serve again, but stand closer to your end and serve straight at them or Pendulum serve into the...
  15. Zhang Jike fined 45.000 euros!

Jeez! The ITTF must be on a money saving drive.......I say no more
  16. Wide shoes

Try Yehlex badminton shoes I struggled for years with shoes that were too narrow. Then I heard about Yehlex badminton shoes. I have been a happy player ever since. Good price too. http://www.yehlex.co.uk/footwear/
  17. My FH Loop against heavy backspin

Gosh, that hall is well lit.
  18. Let's talk about seamless plastic ball

The ITTF have created one almighty balls-up. Happily for me, my local league is sticking to the cell-ball until the season's end. Veterans tournaments are also sticking with the cell-ball. Let's see what happens for the start of next season, for remember, the cell-ball will still be legal.
  19. iPong Poly Pro Seamless Table Tennis Balls.

Seamless hmmm. TTD poster, Baal, has been saying that in his experience, the seamless balls from XSF perform better overall than the seamed variety from other makers. Maybe Joola is trying to cover both the seamed and seamless market.
  20. STIGA Airoc Soft Rubber Review

Does anyone else think that Tom looked much sharper in this video review? Maybe he was enjoying the rubber (or ball) more. Dan what is Tom's view Airoc S?
