  1. Spanish Open 2014 - ITTF World Tour

    Wonderful win congrats to Paul
  2. What is the best blade for beginners?

A good pre-made from DHS will suffice. If he then develops a true love for the game and has the resources for coaching etc, then it all depends on the style that the coach wants him to play thereon.
  3. Donic Bluefire M1 Rubber Review

Very interesting to see this video testing the M1 then watching the Tenergy 80 test by the same pair. It really showed how fast the M1 was and how much more spinny is the T80. Okay, it was different halls and different blades but still a useful comparison.
  4. my amazing rally

    lol, great rally.
  5. Table Tennis Camps

@ Der_Echte, a quick scan of UK/Korea airfares start at about 450GBP. So not as expensive as first thought.
  6. Incredible Table Tennis Robot!

That is absolutely fantastic piece of engineering. That guy had to combine a knowledge of control, mechanical and software engineering plus he looks as if he can play a good game of TT. I feel very humble.
  7. China Players Confirmed For The 2014 WTTTC!

They do all that training normally, yet they are going for 35 closed days training. I wonder how many Europeans get close to that amount of training?
  8. ITTF website stuck in the nineties

You should do this again next year:-)
  9. An all blade without vibration?

A very good blade that doesn't have a lot of vibration is the Xiom Ikarus Alx. I'm not sure what type of composite within but it is very controllable without being too slow. But too much is made of this vibration thing when it is just a matter of getting used to a blade. Eg try the Andro again...
  10. Table Tennis Nerves and how to handle them!

Its just another table tennis match/game...or is it? Good article Eli. I've never been sure of this advice; "Nothing really changed!! accept for the mind set of each player. In reality nothing has ever changed (from club to competition) but everything in your mind has changed once a title and...
  11. Recording a TT match

Just to put things in perspective. I use a Digital 8 camera that I bought 10 years ago for 1000GBP. The videos from my now obsolete smartphone (Nokia N8) are of far better quality.
  12. Once more to be delighted. Video clip.

I suppose that this what Sharara means by slowing the game, that is, turn each game into a scene from the matrix:-) Anyway notice how the slow motion shows that these players serve quite legally although in real-time, the serves may appear dodgy to some.
  13. Which famous players started playing later in life?

More important is when did the player start organised training to meet an end goal of high level TT. Most European players have a go at TT among many sports at a young age. But it was not serious stuff as they were just having fun with their friends.
  14. Ma Long Endorses New Plastic Ball

Darn! I didn't really look closely. DHS has simply put Ma Long's image on the box for an ITTF proved 40+ ball. You are correct. Ma Long has not approved anything. Thread title is misleading and I should read properly before commenting.
  15. Ma Long Endorses New Plastic Ball

Interesting. Sharara hopes that the introduction of the poly will reduce Chinese domination. But if Malong has approved the ball, that means that the CNT already has the production version of the ball which no one else has even seen. So the CNT starts with the advantage that they are practising...
  16. Sharara and Samsonov Interview 2014

To Samsonov, does he think that slowing the pace of the game will attract more spectators to the sport?
  17. The best wood blade

Yes. I meant Shake-handers. I know that PH players have always used 1-ply going back to at least the fifties.
  18. The best wood blade

I think they don't use the 1-ply as they don't actually see one until they are already near-pro and the change would be too great at that stage. Plus, according to Forum wisdom, the big player-sponsors don't have a 1-ply comparable in quality to the Darker (but the player could swap handles, I...
  19. The best wood blade

Yes, I will get the speed 90 one day. It will be my next deliberate purchase, hopefully. Since my post, I have been using the 7P almost exclusively and I've got to grips with the slim handle (get it). It's interesting as it causes me to use a more close to the blade grip which is then used for...
