  1. Video Footage Safe Thread

Well, here is the answer: Read the first post in this thread: If you are not on that list, then you are not allowed to comment or give feedback on people's technique in this particular thread. But if you would like to be able to give feedback on people's technique in the thread, first, you...
  2. Video Footage Safe Thread

In this thread, if you post, unless you say: "I just want to post this footage, please don't comment," it kind of means you would like comments from one of the people approved to give comments. I am trying to let some of the others give you comments. But one thing I will say is, that last...
  3. Anybody ever fixed air bubble on topsheet?

Can't hurt to try fixing it. Very small slice in the topsheet (center of bubble) and glue into the aperture made by the small slice. Most glues I have used, the bottle has a long thin nozzle. That should be enough to get the glue in there.
  4. Anybody ever fixed air bubble on topsheet?

Which rubber is it? Jupiter 3? Big Dipper? Or something else?
  5. what type of backhand?

By definition, you cannot counter topspin (counterloop) against a shot that IS NOT A LOOP. So, perhaps you did not understand that clear and concise definition that Tony gave. :)
  6. using a razor blade to cut the rubber

I think scissors just take a little practice. In 2009-2012 I spent a lot of time at a TT club that was in NYC's Chinatown back then (closed in 2012). One of the guys who worked there was a close friend of mine for years before I ever went there. He and the owner of the club used to build...
  7. Some of my today training footage

I teach a certain kind of group fitness class. I also teach people one-on-one. A lot of what I do is movement analysis and then, the problem solving of what will help a specific person make movements that are not functional or effective become more functional and effective and thereby safer...
  8. what type of backhand?

BTW: it can't be a flick or a banana because, by definition, a those shots are over the table shots on short balls, and these shots are from behind the table. :)
  9. what type of backhand?

Now commentary: both Miwa and Tomokazu, on their backswing have the racket to the left of their elbow (a normal backswing). In a punch you would pull the arm and racket straight back and punch straight forward so the forearm would not swing as in a regular stroke but instead pop forward as in...

  13. what type of backhand?

I think, perhaps, they would have to know how to counterloop to understand what you are saying. But that is what I see and you can see how they are using the incoming spin for that power with that compact motion and the whip mechanics. The contact is fully tangential. In a punch it would be...
  14. what type of backhand?

    It is what NextLevel said.
  15. what type of backhand?

    Yep.
  16. what type of backhand?

Google Translate gives a translation of this as Backhand Drive. But to me, it looks like they are spinning the ball with a very compact stroke. So, I am not sure backhand drive sums this up so well even if they use the term. But those are wildly good backhands with a very compact stroke and...
  17. what type of backhand?

If you go to the thread Zeio posted, there is some translation. And if you read the thread, NextLevel notes that if you use closed caption and select in the settings "auto-generate translation" and whatever language you choose (for example: English), it will give you a translation that is...
  18. using a razor blade to cut the rubber

I wonder how often someone trying that slices his fingers.
  19. Grip problems, thumb placement

For me, because I hold the racket fairly lose, when I close the racket for a FH shot, my grip adjust for the FH and when I close the racket for the BH shot, my grip adjusts. I don't really try to adjust them, but with the rotation of the forearm that needs to occur to close the racket to either...
