Hey @All!

At first I want to wish you all a good, successful and funny new year (...with table tennis  :D )

Second, I introduce my new facebook-page about "Crazy Amateur Players" with crazy shots and some cool moves and emotions! You can find it here: https://www.facebook.com/crazyamateur/. I started this page yesterday and I will try to share as much videos as possible  The videos will be short, and the longer versions are available on my youtube-channel, like whole games and summaries of tournaments and so on.

I want to start with a good ball in a game between the best defense player in our league (Verbandsoberliga) named Ludwig Rehse who played against me. He forced me to crawl on all fours! :D

<script id="facebook-jssdk" src="//connect.facebook.net/de_DE/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"></script><script>(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/de_DE/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script>
defense player makes opponent crawl on all foursLudwig Rehse, the best defense player in Verbandsoberliga with the same result as me in first half of the season, makes me crawl on all fours!!!

The whole game with much emotions is on youtube. I lost this game, but it was a good one. First two sets I squandared (?) a 10-6-lead, then I won the next two sets and lost the final set ... great fight by Ludwig Rehse

You can watch, if you want, the full game here:

Second short video is about a heavy chop block by Piwo and his wild joy about this crazy block !!!

<script>(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/de_DE/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script><iframe name="f2382b9724" width="1000px" height="1000px" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" allowfullscreen="true" scrolling="no" title="fb:video Facebook Social Plugin" src="http://www.facebook.com/v2.3/plugins/video.php?allowfullscreen=true&app_id=&channel=http%3A%2F%2Fstaticxx.facebook.com%2Fconnect%2Fxd_arbiter.php%3Fversion%3D42%23cb%3Df2d0ce2f18%26domain%3Dwww.tabletennisdaily.co.uk%26origin%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.tabletennisdaily.co.uk%252Ff33be34%26relation%3Dparent.parent&container_width=938&href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fcrazyamateur%2Fvideos%2F1695614563984206%2F&locale=de_DE&sdk=joey" style="border: none; visibility: visible; width: 100%; height: 527px;" class=""></iframe>

crayon126, you should know, slimjimmi is approx 2350-2450 if you gave him a USATT rating. He is pretty darn good.

Haha, good one Carl... But that chop block made him look like below 2000 USATT rating :)

Wow. Nice match, Marc.

Rehse's 'backhand' serve is quite interesting. It seems as if it's done with the fh...
And also his bh-smash from the fh side seems quite unorthodox.
Not easy to play against those kinda Players.

Piwo's chopblock is unreal.
His Reaction after that is quite understandable after such an awesome shot.

Nice Vidz.

work on your foot work

hey crayon128, the "footwork" of mine is my biggest problem since I started with 8 years... :D I wasn´t able to correct this even not with 8 different trainers. and the past there were some cruel trainings methods with cane and some hits at my legs, a little trauma because I was only 12 years old. But you can see I worked on that and nothing comes out :D My right leg stands always still, don´t know what that is... Another problem are my missing muscles, same as in my arms, that´s why all slabbers a little bit , hahahah ;)

Great fight ! Really fun to watch this match with defensive player.

Hey SquareBall, yeah it really was a crazy fight. There will be a rematch in end of January.

Haha, good one Carl... But that chop block made him look like below 2000 USATT rating :)

Hey Giangt, I look like a complete idiot :D

Hey Sugar D, yes you´re right, the backhand serve is a nice trick serve with forehand side. At the first time (1st set) I was confused and made a mistake. But after that I saw that there´s not much spin in it.

That unorthodox backhand smash was really hard to block or to make counter-spin. The thin red rubber on his blade was curious. The played had a fat kick jump on the bounce.

Piwo´s block is so perfectly hitted that there was unreal backspin in it and I was declared uncapable :D That was a really CRAZY shot :)

Thanks for your response! Next vidz are coming soon ;)

I think my point is, for someone who has declared himself a beginner and asked for advice on a setup that costs under $70.00 to watch a guy who is at least 8-12 levels higher and give advice is a bit...well...off.

Marc is an awesome player and his opponent is not easy to look good against. Fun match to watch. Those spaghetti legs still get him around pretty decently even if that opponent is hard to handle. One day I aspire to have that footwork and those loops. LOL.

Hey carl, whoa that´s an awesome compliment, thank you :) Spaghetti legs is funny, in my club they call me "the marionette-like man"

And you are right about Piwo, he is really good, can play fast topspins and counterspins at table, very spinny serves, hard to play against him. And he accomplished a very good first half of the season in Oberliga (one league higher than me).

Next short video is a start in a new series about CRAZY backhand cannons and is of myself at training with Angelo Berse:

There will be more backhand cannons in the future, all played by amateur players :)

EDIT: embedding facebook-videos is not possible any more :/ don´t know what that is... would be easier to click and watch the video right here.

I think you need to buy better sport shoes with more friction as I've noticed while watching the video, your shoes look slippery on the floor like you have no traction on your shoes.

hey mashimai, yeah that´s right! Some floors are very dirty and I have to use a wet towel I push my shoes on... Not the perfect way to play table tennis. I will have a look at new shoes which are really made for table tennis :)

Imperfect is although a too small box in matches, like that here:

With your fast spaghetti legs (Copyright USDCarl ) and extended BH strokes, you're like a tennis player doing well at table tennis!
A helmet is needed

hey FloKing, I heard that many times :D Fact is I play also a good ball in tennis, especially one-handed backhand :D thats most fun yeah!

A helmet or some glasses... I have a nice anecdote:

Before a game in a league matche I have noticed that my opponent is really hard to play against and I made a joke that it is only possible to beat him, if I shoot him in his eyes :D In the game I accidental hit the ball very hard with the edge of my blade and really shot right in one of his eyes. After that it was not possible to see because of the tears... So I won the game in an unfair way.... But I think it is a nice anecdote because I told the plan before the game and it really happended :D

Another video on the fb-page is about some backhand cannon balls:

The whole training session is uploaded here:

And in this trainings session Piwo showed me how great his reaction is. I named this "The Great Wall of Piwo" :D

<div id="fb-root"></div><script>(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/de_DE/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script><div class="fb-video" data-allowfullscreen="1" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/crazyamateur/videos/1696781020534227/"><div class="fb-xfbml-parse-ignore"><blockquote cite="https://www.facebook.com/crazyamateur/videos/1696781020534227/"><a href="https://www.facebook.com/crazyamateur/videos/1696781020534227/">Great Wall of China by Piwo</a><p>No break-through-possibility for Marc against the Great Wall of CRAZY Piwo (y)</p>Posted by <a href="https://www.facebook.com/crazyamateur/">Crazy Amateur Table Tennis Player</a> on Sonntag, 10. An here are some backhand strokes by Moritz Voß (my partner in doubles), he is 17 years old:

<div id="fb-root"></div><script>(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/de_DE/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script><div class="fb-video" data-allowfullscreen="1" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/crazyamateur/videos/1696690823876580/"><div class="fb-xfbml-parse-ignore"><blockquote cite="https://www.facebook.com/crazyamateur/videos/1696690823876580/"><a href="https://www.facebook.com/crazyamateur/videos/1696690823876580/">CRAZY backhand cannons PART II</a><p>Second Part of the new series about CRAZY backhand cannons, today they are blown over the net by Moritz Voß</p>Posted by <a href="https://www.facebook.com/crazyamateur/">Crazy Amateur Table Tennis Player</a> on Donnerstag, 7. Have fun by watching the videos and would be great if you like and share some videos :) Feedback is also needed, I mean especially the first video with some graphics and the fatty Boom implemented. I don´t know if it is too childish or something like that...?

Good 'ole OCD Carl... :D

Hahaha. I am glad someone remembers my real name!!!

Sorry, Marc. I think I have a strong backhand but next to your cannon, mine is a water pistol. You had better go ask Ovtcharov for his cannon or some 2400 level junior.

I agree. Mr slimjimmi has a serious cannon. It makes me jealous and it makes me realize, if I had one of those good robots that slimjimmi and NextLevel have, there are things I could do that would really help my technique.

My backhand is decent against topspin. But it lacks those extra gears of spin from the crank of the forearm that you two guys both have vs backspin. Mine is improving. My loop vs backspin is at least pretty consistent now. But it lacks the power I would like it to have.

I love the Booms and Ka-Booms in this video.

Great analyse, Carl. Piwo is really a good and fast offensive player who one has to be set under pressure to make a point. E.g. making a two spin balls in the same direction, Piwo is counter spinning the second one pretty good and this is a safe hit by him.

The "special effects" are funny for me too :D

Now, I will post some new videos which were uploaded to my fb-page, I try to embedd them now:
