so 3rd stage is from 1 to 5 in March , leader of each group is Zhang Jike , Ma long , Xu Xin and other players are Wang Hao , Ma Lin , Hao Shoui , Chen Qi , Yan An , Fan Zhendong.

Tommy, could you answer a question I have?
In Rotterdam, Ma Long, Ma Lin, Wang Hao, Wang Liqin, Chen Qi, Xu Xin and Zhang Jike played mens singles. so thats 7.
These trials will determine 5 players from 9...
so will the chinese coaches then select 2 more players? wil these 2 come from the remaining 4 that lost in the 3rd stage or from all of the players from the 1st or 2nd stage?
So, could wang liqin still play? even thoughs hes not in 3rd stage? or zhou yu, or fang Bo?

The rule not said that two players should select from the losers of 3rd stage, so Wang Liqin still had chance, but I think it is such a small chance for WLQ because he didn't get into the robin round of 2nd stage. Some info in China said the coaches will give the opportunity to young players, so it is precarious for Ma Lin, Hao Shuai and Chen Qi if they can't win in the 3rd stage.

i prefer battles between 3 generations: Wang Hao, Ma Lin, Wang Liqin vs Zhang Jike, Ma long, Xu Xin vs Yan An , Fang Bo, Zhou Yu

i think the trials will be interessting- especially as we havent seen ma lin,chen qi or hao shuai in competition right before the trials (none of them are plying in qatar), so we dont know how good they are playing...

i think the 5 that qualify will be xu xin, ma long, zhang jike, ma lin and wang hao.
however, if chen qi is playing well i can see him getting in in place of maybe ma lin or wang hao.
hao shuai will have to be playing his best if he wnts to qualify, and i cant see yan an or fan zhendong getting in- yan may be in with a chance though if he plays against Xu Xin...should be good

wtf , Zhang Jike is injured

lets hop that he can play well in trails.i think Ma Lin can't make it this time. Yan An is in top form so he can take the place of ma lin

Good point, I think Zhang Jike may have withdrawn from the Qatar Open to make sure hes in good condition for the WTTC trials. Will soon find out

Good point, I think Zhang Jike may have withdrawn from the Qatar Open to make sure hes in good condition for the WTTC trials. Will soon find out
