strange line up for team 2. There is no reason for Lin to play 2 singles matches. he is the weak player of the team. He has no chances against fan or ma

Looks like a typical CNT propaganda move to boost the ego of the main team... on a more serious note, this will defy explanation if LGY loses to FZD as well...

Anyone have the match order? MAybe they wanted WCQ vs ML in match 3 and FZD vs LJK in match 4...

1 XX/ML vs LJK/WCQ
2 FZD vs LGY
3 ML vs WCQ
4 FZD vs LJK
5 XX vs LGY

LGY keeps getting faulted, toss at 33 degrees, 3 degrees above the limit.

Yer wasted first match WCQ or LJK would be better matchup for FZD

If China vs Japan in Tokyo Final, I don't see Harimoto playing doubles. WCQ probably good replicate of Harimoto if they are trying to have trials of what might happen.

Going by ITTF's stats:

FZD vs LGY - 7:3, FZD 4:2 in last encounter at WTGF 2019, LGY 4:2 and 3:0 in previous two at ATTC 2019 and Swedish Open 2019, 4:2 at Asian Cup 2017.
FZD vs LJK - 6:2, FZD 4:3 in last encounter at German Open 2019, LJK 4:2 in previous two at Austrian Open 2018 and WTTC 2019.
FZD vs WCQ - 4:1, WCQ's only win was 4:3 at Hungarian Open 2019.

I would love it at Tokyo 2021, 5th game in team event, Mizutani vs Xu Xin, Gold Medal Match

I think Japan is strong, team event is tougher as teams have to engineer 3 wins against Team China, 1 is hard enough let alone 3. You need to catch ML FZD XX on a bad day.

I still say Japanese ladies #2 then big gap between 2-3 however men's I think Japan Germany Korean teams pretty even, not much separating these teams, CNT men's still the standouts team

Wang Chuqin pushed a lot of half-long serves into the forehand - he must have believed the hype of Ma Long's serve. Yet the two times he looped the serves in the game I remember, he won the point. I suspect his inability to read serve length is only exploitable by CNT.

WTF match ended before I got to see Liang JingKun... Who made this match ups... Should've put Lin in the doubles... Always start with your best performing players in singles...
