Hey all. New to the forums. I'm 26 years old and have been an above knee amputee for 5 years now. I love ping pong and the community that comes with it.
Thought I'd have a little fun with my first post, so please enlighten me and give me your opinion on the question:
If you were told you could...
In the recent tournament, I lost to an opponent. He used "kick serve". He started like a forehand backspin serve but his forearm and wrist seemed to snap very quickly. The ball came at me at a moderately fast pace, bounced near the end of table, and then seemed to kick forward. Caught me by...
This is a cool photo :) What's going on here do you think?

Im assuming most of the people here have seen this. For those who haven't... You're welcome :p
but this serve not only amazes me, but intrigues me. its obviously a mix of backspin and side spin
but i dont understand how there could have been enough spin to stop the ball dead in its tracks on...
This is with regards to the ITTF rules.
Basically my serve now has my left leg just beside the sideline (it's not past the endline though), but I do hit the ball past the endline, not over-the-table. Is that serve legal?
I found these in a Chinese TT magzine "PingPong", here introduced 3 kinds of serve of Zhang Jike:
1) High-throw & side of the backspin serve
2) low-throw & reverse and side of the backspin serve
3) middle-throw & side of the backspin serve
Did zhang brushed the ball or not ? Is it possible for a serve like that to happen? Please provide your answer with logical points that obey the laws of physics !
also i would like if its possible for Dan , to make an interview with zhang to ask him if he touched it or not and many other questions
Quite a while ago I posted a video on youtube of some of my serve repertoire, so I could send it round to a few friends to get some pointers.
But a while ago, I got a comment asking for a tutorial (actually, they didn't ask for a tutorial, but just a closer view of the serve). I replied that I...
Today on the 28th July 2012 saw the first day of the table tennis at the London 2012 Olympics in the beautiful Excel Arena. Great Britains Paul Drinkhall and Joanna Parker both faced players ranked lower than themselves and were under pressure however both delivered in style!
Paul Drinkhall -...

Just something I've noticed a few times when watching videos, on how to use your body weight to serve, and to return back to ready position.
Many thanks to TTPoster for uploading these fantastic videos for us to analyse!
