So I am curious if anyone actually weighted 1.9 vs 2.1 09c ? other differences ? question for those who tested?

I am looking to balance the blade more towards handle and take off a few grams. I don't mind that there's less dwell and it bottoms out sooner, as long as it is still bouncy.

I want to use w968 and Loki ADC special and the setups become quite heavy with 2.1 09c's , looking for alternatives to make it lighter

I have tested both, 1.9 for about 6 months and 2.1 for about 2 months, and for me the key difference was (which is logic) that 2.1 has less control, but more power. This sounds as if I took it from chatgpt, but it's the truth haha

I remember when I started with 2.1m and balls would fly long just like that. Then with 1.9 it was much better.

In any case, I only use it now as my spare rubber, I decided to polish my BH technique further as I was missing some key details on the wrist, body recoil and hit-brush ratio (I have a natural preference for Lin Gaoyuan's style so without those it was not correct) and went back to my beloved 8-80 (unboosted, with PG7), and since then, BH has greatly improved, and in fact, I don't need the extra catapult now anymore, technique solved that.

Setting my own ego aside, this just means that unless your technique is very well developed and solid, you probably should not do 09c. You can learn in this case from my own mistake, but hey, I wanted to try and experience it, I advice people on equipment so I needed to suffer this on my own flesh ;)

By the way, with those blades you have a hell of a setup, what is your current level? :D

I wouldn't be able to tell you my level, there's no ratings where I am from :).

See my problem is I am a both wing aggressive attacker, currently my setup is Loki ADC special with 09c both sides, it weights around 190 grams and head heavy . The competitions I play in have limited side space so I will have to use alot of backhand.

Head heaviness reduces my acceleration , which sometimes compromises safety, also that head weight is adding power that I don't need. So what I need right now is to reduce the weight of the rubbers a bit to fix most of it.

I played with hurricane rubbers for 2 years, but I am tired of boosting and the type of players I play against require to be able to also hit some flat attacks in order to finish them off, 09c is ok for that, deflated unboosted h3 won't work.

So yes, I wanted to know weight difference from 2.1 to 1.9, the faster I can accelerate the more I put the ball on the table.

very useful website, thanks, does not have 09c 1.9 tho
But You can estimate. Take a Tenergy 1.9 and a tenergy 2.1 and calculate the % difference, then apply this on Dignics.
Its not exact but it will be in the right ball park. The inexactness will be in the different top sheet...

Cheers

My educated guess is around 3g. (uncut)
In theory, depending on the density of the sponge, it can have a bigger effect when going thinner.
BUT it might have no difference at all if you have bad luck. I had a pair of rubbers with different sponge thickness and they weighed pretty much the same.
Product variation plays a big role here. You might want to ask your dealer for a lighter one in advance to get the luck part out of the way. That way you might be able to keep 2.1mm

I see, if you have yourself on video I'd love to see it and check the stroke mechanics (you can send via DM no problem!). Then depending on that I can say if 1.9 or 2.1 is better for you and also see how the blade and rubbers behave on your overall technique. It may be you are a really high level and then perhaps you need different things for FH and BH than what you have now

normaly rubbers have less bounce, less spin, better passive game and more feeling for the wood (sometimes they can even feel harder) when you go thinner. so if you are an aggressive two wing looper as you say then just stick with 2.1 and ask butterfly to send you the lightest version. i think butterfly rubbers are already pretty light for their hardness, so switching to something like bluegrip c2 or similar style rubbers would just make it heavier.

i mean your video looks alright, but you just get the same ball with the same spin to the same position, every rubber would work in that scenario. you should show a video of your matchplay, then it is easier to judge what you would actually profit from

I just saw the static vids, could not see the instagram video but the overall stroke mechanics looked good, as @K.K says, it's match gameplay that matters more at the high level where all players can do the strokes good on static but in any case, I'd say you can handle 2.1 all good.
