I am talking about the focus from the CNT on Sora in preparation for this games.

I hope WRB has a lot of good support after this match. Netizens are going to blame him for the lost of the team match. The blame should really be on the coaches selection of the team for the final.

Why did they not field XP if they need to protect LSD at 3. Why give so much responsibility to a 19 year old WRB to win his matches when it’s really LSD that’s letting the team down.

The 2 players that China need to select are players who can win against Harimoto and Sora. On a good day WCQ can beat these 2 players but what about the 2nd player from China who can beat these 2 players. Isn’t XP record against these 2 players much better than WRB?

What are the implications of Wang Hao as coach. Will he be fired or will it be similar to Ma Lin when he lost the team match against Japan at ATTC 2024 but still kept his role as head coach.

LSD should have played 2nd seed player ,

Wang should have beaten Harimoto lol. But more seriously, this is exactly the kind of thing that happens when you take a risky strategy and it doesn't pan out. Now imagine if this was Japan and Togami had earned the third spot, and then they played Shinozuka and he lost.., what will that do to team dynamics?

They did not win the games I expected but finally succeeded to overcome China in a final. Tomo brought them back to still have a chance and Sora finished the job. Apart from the final points I couldnt watch the matches and saw only live scores. Cant wait to watch the matches later 🏓
If anyone saw the games. How did Tomo beat WCQ? Was he that good today or was WCQ tired of 5 Sora games?

Hari dominated the short game; and served short. his FH flick was very accurate today. In rallies 50/50, but Tomo played the odds and the law of large numbers made it work for him, with a bit of luck also in his favor

It was clear China was in trouble before the match. Nothing has changed. XP is dominated by Harimoto and Lin is likely dominated by Sora and Harimoto. Wen was the only one that had a good record vs Harimoto prior to the match. In any case, Wen almost succeeded but their strategy was clearly Wang 2, LSD 1. Wang didn't get his 2 and he must take the responsibility as such.

Wang Hao will be fine, it is obvious the team is in a crisis and he is doing his best to manage it. That's why I find the mixed teams at LA 2028 so convenient.

They now have a mixed teams event at the Olympics so the women will prevent the men from losing Teams, the issue now is whether China can build doubles teams on the men's side in time for LA 2028 since teams is being replaced with doubles and mixed teams. But that is a much better puzzle than to just lose the men's teams outright, Japan and France are clearly ready and many other teams would have gladly taken their chances (Taiwan, Germany, Korea etc.)

Teams will be fine for China since the Olympics will only have Mixed Team matches only compared to previous Olympics where there was Mens and Womens team matches. The women’s team will be the wall/protection for the mens team in the mixed team matches.
