She missed an unusual amount of chops, especially on fh, and still took it to 5, she is just slightly out of form but will get back to her best.

For me, the match was a 50-50, I just picked the other way and it could as well have gone the other way. Congrats, SYB.

Odo seems more solid than Kihara at the moment. Yokoi can get better too

Odo failed to back it in 2025 given her seeding. Yokoi has wasted enough opportunities when playing overseas. Kihara reached the final of Star Contender 3 times in 2025 with little support from JTTA and her domestic results (besides the Road to Paris selection trials) blow Odo and Yokoi out of the water. Like I wrote about Nagasaki here, here and here, Kihara could've done the same if given more chances.

Miwa is the only Japanese woman who is a lock for LA2028 as far as I'm concerned. And I'm glad to see she's starting to manage her schedule better. She skipped SC Doha which was right before the All Japan(unlike ahem, Tomo), and I think(?) she was once on the player's list for SC Chennai but is no longer on it.
