Starting this thread as instructed, in hope that open discussion of the topic will lead to a better forum!

@NextLevel - go ahead and move the posts that prompted you to call for this thread's creation.
I know you have strong feelings, but I would encourage you to not assume the moral high ground. You are free to make your case. They were disrupting the other thread, I have deleted them as I promised to. All the data on that thread was publicly available and you are free to reference it. This is not a mountain of posts, and given what you wrote, you have a lot of posts and incidents in mind.

As I said there, you have repeatedly shown that you are both willing and able to move posts to other threads as and when it suits you. Unsurprising - yet nonetheless disappointing - that you'd go the obfuscation via deletion route.

It's also a rather poignant demonstration of your hypocrisy, selective enforcement, and suppression of criticism - as mentioned there.

And yes, it was available, and I'll not hesitate to reference it accurately in future posts, despite your efforts to make that as difficult as possible.

I usually move or delete posts that interfere with tournament threads as a baseline. I am often laissez faire about other threads unless I get a post report, but I participate actively in tournament threads and one of the reasons I became a moderator was to police them.

Extending this to the other members. I'd reference a thread I made over at MyTT back in 2018 shortly after joining TTD, that the member who likes one-liners was the first to reply and couldn't agree more. What gives?

The banning of pnachtwey, agentHEX and berndt_mann were unfortunate, since they actually generated buzz, however controversial and annoying many of them might have been. And at least in the case of pnachtwey and agentHEX, arguing with them actually got me something in return. I would never have looked up all these studies and interesting stuff that I never knew exist.
...
As for moderator status, no. I don t think that will help, given the limitations of the WebWiz software. The issue at hand is more than just moderating. The thing is Mytt no longer has the appeal and the cohesion it once possessed. The sense of community is thinner than ever. As Bobrow put it, people stopped caring. There is hardly anything to moderate now.

No need for better moderation but posters need to respect the forum a bit more.

Note most of these issues come from 1-3 people in a thread disagreeing and derailing the whole thing, maybe if we respect the posters and other members we don't derail things so that the relevant information is 3 pages back and now the thread is dead.

I have had disagreements on here with several members some active still some not, but after maybe 3 comments I usually ask is this argument two things.

1.) even still on topic really, not just using the topic to argue but actually contributing an opinion

2.) is the back and forth even if "on topic" burying and derailing all other discussion, in a smash thread there should be more discussion over a page than arguing about one aspect of one player it should be about the tournament overall

If we can just take a step back and think, does this argument need to continue or should I actually just stop as it's not benefitting the thread, the 15 other members trying to have a discussion, and me or my opponent as neither of us actually will ever agree then you will find the threads more lively and better to read.

Can I ask, what exactly is the issue you have?
It is not at all clear from your opening post.

Can I also ask you to take a second and consider the job of a moderator, from the position of a moderator?
It's not an easy job at all and no matter what they do there will always be someone unhappy with the actions, if it's not you it will be someone else.
They need to be cut some slack and also, blame needs to put on those who behave in ways to necessitate moderator action.
If everyone followed the rules a bit more and was just a little bit more considerate of everyone the mods would probably not be needed.

As I said, I don't know what has happened to prompt this post but the title seems to apply all the blame to one area.
I hope you can consider all things and realise that this is not the case.

The said mod has removed all traces of evidence pointing to his "misfeasance" while many of you were offline. I have them saved but am now in fear of moderation action if I post them.

Please post here, post away. You posted them on the wrong thread and I deleted them.

In fact, I can post the private messages I have shared with you if you want me to post them. And this is the most recent post I made to you which I also repeated in PM. All I ask is that people who want to post stick to the facts and not assume the moral high ground.
