The guy is a self-righteous hypocrite and a propagandist, and thats the actual reason this topic exists at all, if anyone believes even for a second he cares about Tony or anybody else I have a bridge to sell them. The dude is here to spam anti-west propaganda wherever he can and gets mad when his posts get moved and get less visibility. There is no place with perfect moderation, if someone say otherwise just means they happen align with the moderation there. Zeio should be happy the moderation here is so tolerant, cause it if it was me Id be removing political posts without even an explanation.

I thought you have the concept of humility in chinese culture 🤔

Jessica Burbank: The only thing that we understand in America is when someone big dicks us. We only understand power when it's coming from someone who's a little bit aggressive and egotistical.

Yang Jiechi: Well, I think we thought too well of the United States. We thought that the U.S. side will follow the necessary diplomatic protocols. So for China it was necessary that we made our position clear.

So let me say here that, in front of the Chinese side, the United States does not have the qualification to say that it wants to speak to China from a position of strength. The U.S. side was not even qualified to say such things even 20 years or 30 years back, because this is not the way to deal with the Chinese people. If the United States wants to deal properly with the Chinese side, then let's follow the necessary protocols and do things the right way.

It's just sad to see how people are so often expecting the worst from others.
I think in essence, everyone is trying to give their best. And any frustration or feelings of animosity when your best isn't appreciated is entirely normal human behavior. But please try not to get stuck in it, it's such a waste of energy.

Of course, I'm no saint either. But I'm trying to do better and hopefully that can give others a bit of inspiration, too.

This is ridiculous. We have enough politics ruining table tennis already, now the forum is seemingly rife with it as well. How about we all get back to talking about table tennis and leave our egos at the door.

This is a back and forth that could last for the life of the forum if the stone throwing continues, what's the point? What is the resolution that people are hoping for here? Anything that is fixed now will not resolve past grievances, and past grievances seem to be what are being dug up and aired out here like dirty laundry.

You guys need to grow up, the more you try and win, the more everyone loses. We are all adults here and are all capable of participating in threads. If things get out of hand sure the mods can step in, but I don't think we need excessive moderation within threads.

Part of being in a community like this is accepting that there are different viewpoints and different personalities. I would worry less about how people interact for newcomers to the forum, and more about this thread glaring them straight in the face when they walk through the door.

How about close the thread and stop arguing like your lives depend on it. These guys are literally pulling out paragraphs to win some argument? Like if anyone was actually mature they should just stop arguing and keep on discussing TT. Like is this really how you want to spend your free time?

It would take maybe a tenth of the critics to help with the moderation process. All it takes is to volunteer. @NextLevel did, and it has put him in positions he's absolutely not happy about.
This open hostility is sure to scare off future volunteers and what happens when we run out of those?
We've seen before how spam gets out of hand quickly, how argument escalate to levels well beyond this thread.
If that's not what you want to happen, either volunteer or find a way to come to terms with the current moderation situation. This repeated dragging up of old crap sure isn't helping, regardless of who was right or wrong back then.
Absolutely. No way I’d be a moderator. FK that. How can you please everyone? And some folk are always gonna be making mountains out of molehills.

I am 95% sure that Tony is doing something more productive with his time. Even as webforums are no longer what they used to be in the era of social media, this one has decent traffic and participation. I tried to get some of my connected friends to join but when I look at how Matt gets treated and the fact that posters like @pingpongpaddy think it is more important to massage the ego of valuable contributors than to find valuable contributors who are willing to find value in the forum and the community, I have given up that as well. I am not going to be a moderator forever but when I am done, I hope some members will think over how important it is certain things to function properly. I can't place it all pn membership, unless we use AI more actively for moderation, the site is likely understaffed from a moderator perspective. But that all comes down to vision and resources.
I sought this place out recently because mma is full of whinging whiners who can’t see other people’s positions and tennis just a disturbing incel fest.
Would be great if TT proves a bit more grown up. I do think it will. I agree with the guy up there who said you’ve given air to the conversation so enough is enough. Move on.

I can't say table tennis is not full of human problems like those you described, but the thread was needed to fulfill a purpose on many levels. I will lock it up for now. God permitting, I should meet up with the TTD community in Duesseldorf next month (at least those who can make it).
