I gets a little bit faster and livelier, but it’s still slow.

Cheers

Hit harder, it's fast. Boost it and it gets stupid fast.

Rubbers like that get faster the harder you hit. Soft rubbers after a point get a dampening effect, like suspension that can't expand fast enough even though it has a hard spring, the damper has a limit.

Hard rubbers don't have that, they behave differently. Their ability to expand gets exponentially greater the more power you put into them and behave like solid object because of their extreme hardness, mitigating loss of energy/power. Hence why pros use hard rubbers and why they play with a set amount of power, that being very high.

That about covers it.

Guys I was ordering hurricane 3 neo national blue sponge 39 by mistake - I wanted a regular national hurricane 3 blue sponge.

So my question is do I need to boost it for maximum performance or it has enough booster from factory?
You should boost it, but don't over do. 39 deg is soft already for the FH, boosting too much then it'll feel mushy.

Ah people used to say that 39 degree hurricane is hard. But that’s maybe not the Neo case 😃

I don’t really like soft rubbers especially on a forehand. That’s unfortunate. So maybe just I will gift it for some one than. Who knows🤓

No H3 and H3N is a lot slower than most ESN rubbers when hitting hard. From position 3 Orange sponge is a dog boosted or not. From what I hear Blue sponge is a little faster, have yet to try…

Dude... Hit hard and you'll see that esn rubbers have a ceiling. Chinese rubbers don't have that. Emratthich was telling a lot of bull, but this is true, everyone knows that.

I think neo has enough booster from the factory. If it's still too soft for you, try the non-neo version. Or you can try 40-41 degrees. If you get non-neo version and it feels too dead, you can add one layer of glue, then one layer of Falco Tempo Long, and then one more layer of glue.

39 degrees is the softest that you can get for blue sponge Chinese rubber, but it's not so soft when compared to ESN/hybrid rubbers. For instance, I think D09c is around 38 degrees on the Chinese scale and D05 is around 36 degrees. So 39 degrees is still pretty hard. But I would agree with Doralikesmath: don't boost it further.

If you haven't tried H3 before, then 39 degrees neo is a good introduction which will let you see if you like hard Chinese rubbers. The looping power you can get from a hard rubber is extremely satisfying. Maybe you will catch the hardness virus like me and end up playing 42 degrees unboosted :D

ALL rubbers have a ceiling…

The ceiling of a hard sponge is higher than that of a softer one. The harder can maintain more energy. Softer is more elastic and has other characteristics. Once a rubber bottoms out then it's over, and soft rubbers bottom out easier than hard ones.

I have always played tt with harder rubbers started from D09c from the beginning I don’t find it super hard rather I adore it hardness. I mostly using full strokes and I had respectable power in my loops. But Chinese hardness is something different from what I heard but I mostly interested in feeling. I will try Hurricane out just from curiousity if I didn’t like it - I just stick to D09c or K3.

To be honest at my club I saw only a few guys using hurricanes - one of them was Chinese student with pretty high level another just random dude that had blindly buy commercial long5 with unboosted hurricanes two sides for his third training.

Yeah there is going to be a different feeling for sure. With H3 the throw angle is very low so you have to hit under the ball instead of hit on top of the ball. But it looks like you are pretty strong, so you shouldn't have an issue getting enough power with H3. And if you have enough power, the feeling of hitting hard with H3 is very addictive.

I am curious to hear what you think of H3, since you have been using D09c for a long time. I found it hard to adjust between them, but this is just me. My first racket sport was squash, which uses the idea of "hitting under the ball" -- I think this is why I find it easier to play with low-throw rubbers in table tennis.
