Hello guys,

Have been researching this for long , are there any lightweight options to Rakza 7 which are around 20 percent faster but have that same deeply topsheet?. ( Soft topsheet med hard sponges).

I have Rakza 7 2.0mm on BH and very satisfied with it , on FH the speed is too slow and max is too much weight.

I have checked through many rubbers.. Fastarc G-1, C-1 , Xiom Vega Asia? , bluestorm series?!?!.

45 grams??.

FYI..not so experienced , I might prefer the Vega series instead , but one of my restrictions is weight.

I do not buy flagship tensor rubbers anyways.

Somewhere mid is fine for me.

Speed linear , mid bouncy.

Did not like the bouncy feel of Rozena on the short game

If R7 max is too heavy compared to 2.0 you may have a hard time finding a good replacement.

DHS Gold Arc 8 (47.5°) was to me the perfect next step up from R7, but I never weighed it so I can't tell you how it compares. They felt about the same.

G-1 is great but will be heavier. Something like Rasanter R45 might suit. I've never tried Vega Pro, but it's also in a similar range.

Looking forward on G-1 but which thickness to choose? superthick 2.0, max or thick 1.8?

I was looking at rasanter R45 , R48 and R47, in 2.0 thickness which one do you suggest?

I'd go for 2.0mm if you go for G1. I used G1+Rakza7 and they were always within 1g weight of each other

Could also try the Vega X, I consider that a fairly natural step up from Rakza 7.

If you're an offensive player I always say go for max, but if you're really concerned about weight the "superthick" 2.0 is still good.

I think R47/48 might be too fast if you don’t like modern tensors. R45 is still a tensor but the softer sponge helps "tame" it a little bit. It will be bouncier in the short game, though.

I really can't recommend DHS GA8 enough as a step up from Rakza 7, though. It's supposedly a tensor but I found the 47.5° version very tame while still being an upgrade.

Over the course of 7 years ever since I have started Table tennis. I have always played with 2.0mm sponges.

Because I prefer control- offensive.

I am checking xiom Vega asia too ( not the DF , not the hybrid... The plain simple one with 47.5 )

And the Omega VII Pro as was suggested here but again in 2.0mm

Heard of victas V-11 too checking that

I moved from razka 7 to razka X, 2 mm is faster than max on 7. It is slightly lower throw though

Thank you all for your replies. I read them and brought a few rubbers.

Omega VII Pro being one of em in 2.0mm thickness. ( For FH).

On the search of lightweight rubbers. I found Victas V-11 extra as alternative. Heard it has a similar softer topsheet.

Got some Xiom Vega Asia's too. And yes a sheet of Rakza 7.

Got all of them for a very cheap price from TT-Japan.

All the above mentioned rubbers are 2.0mm.

The recommendations that I tried:

Tried Fastarc C-1 on a TB ALC blade. Didn't like it kinda ( maybe the rubber was dead.. from who had it).

Tried Vega Asia and R47... On Fextra blade.

Vega Asia was softer.. but I felt would have been the right choice given my hard blade. Considering Fextra is a really dwelly soft blade.

R47 was good too..felt very good on Fextra.

Tried Xiom Vega Pro on all-round S felt like brick!!!.

MX-p, S too bouncy.

A Bit of research on my End:

As my Rozena got dead. I tried to weigh it . Turns out it is 46 grams. ( Does the rubber loose weight as it goes dead ? 🤔.. asking this just to learn..( I felt it lighter on my arm when it just got dead a few weeks ago).

Logically speaking.. the rubber as it looses tension.. ( I am expecting in the sponge as well. The hardness may lessen hence the weight might decrease?)..( FYI the rubber has no chips tho).

Hope this helps

If you're still shopping around you could consider a Tenergy 19 in 1.9mm sponge?

Umm, actually m done shopping. Just got the rubbers yesterday.

Unfortunately I ddnt see butterfly with them on their website.

you suggest that rubber for me?
I just read your previous post again and see that you've already bought those rubbers you mentioned above, sry, I missed that part when I saw it first.
If you have all of those on the way then I reckon you'll be fine!

The T19 is a fast and spinny rubber. I'd have recommend it as something to try, if someone at your club has it perhaps.
Or if you're really not happy with any of the rubbers when they arrive it could be on your list of next options.
Interested to hear how you get on with the ones you've bought.

Yeah. The rubbers have already arrived.

I plan on putting Xiom Vega Asia for Forehand on my All wood blade.
(Butterfly Hadraw).

Surely I'll update you.

But Rakza 7 is the sweet spot I have found all this year's for the blade I use.

M trynna turn offensive slowly from All round play while maintaining control.

So these pushes for FH rubbers.

In my Club.. people rarely have new rubbers.

I tried Tenergy 64 too was lightweight kinda soft feel but that was on a TB ALC blade.

I have tried Tibhar Aurus too. On a stiga offensive classic carbon. ( Both aurum and aurum prime ) Softer one on backhand.

Never tried Stiga / Donic rubbers ( apart from Donic coppa).

Let's see if I am able to try it somewhere
