What is your experience playing with only one hand during the serve ?

A friend in my club is an amputee and is considering getting a new blade, when I made her test mine or others from players in the club she said she didn't liked because of the handle, she also has small hands.

She doesn't have any problem in the game due to other arm missing but i was thinking that it must not be so convenient in the serve.

Let me know if you know amputee in your club.

We got a casual amputee in one of my clubs and i think the most important is probably to have a slim handle so that the player can hold the handle in the palm and still have enough space inside the hand to reach and hold the ball with the fingers wrapped around the handle. At least that's what i remember our amputee to serve. Bathandle and ball in the same hand. Throw ball with be bat handle in the hand up high, grip bat more firmly and hit the ball.

It takes practice, A year ago our players came in with one arm. It took a year but now he serves and plays almost like before. The serve is difficult but its getting better.

I train with him at tines and its no difference reslly, but the worse part I think he cant really pick up balls from left pocket…

Cheers
