I have had a lot of success with $40 blades. I love the Fang Bo carbon. Its fast and crisp but with dwell time for looping. Also the Stuor Harimoto zlc clone is great too. Recently I tried the Stuor HL5 clone which felt a bit slow to me. Are there any other $40 or under blades you can recommend with speed and dwell time?

Im considering maybe the Sanwei F3 pro or 729 King blackwood series.

I have an innerforce ZLC knockoff off of aliexpress that plays pretty well, I'd need to do some more testing with it though. It feels in the same general vein as my Fang Bo carbon
can you link to it? I also already have a Harimoto ZLC clone from Ali

When you do powerloops then other plies also get involved so a bit harder to conclude.

I'm really interested in this new blade because I haven't seen a composition like this. It has ebony wood on the surface, but uses inner fibre Kev-Carbon, and ayous core.

Would this play more similar to Viscaria because of the stiff surface? or play more like HL5 because of the inner-fibre?

Maybe 301 would be a good comparison? Do you think it would have good dwell time for looping or would the hard surface negate the dwell time?

I think lots of people loop with Viscaria and even stiffer blades, so this blade should be loop-able too. If it doesn't have enough dwell time you can compensate by changing the rubbers.

But if you just guessed, do you think it would be more similar to Viscaria or HL5?

All the top plies you mentioned are harder and more stiff than koto. You can easily deduct what they'd do. It would feel like a harder, faster, stiffer H301.
I tried the H301 once, and to me it felt a bit slow but with a lot of flex. So a faster version of 301 doesn't sound bad at all.

But would those darkwood surface ruin the dwell time of the 301?

I think Rosewood top with ALC underneath (external or inner) makes no sense whatsoever. I have a Yasaka Goiabao 5 which is a similar top wood (hard) with no ALC and it has a large sweet spot but is too hard for me to spin well. I also have Walnut top blades and they are a little softer but still not as good for dwell time as Limba (e.g. the Yinhe Pro-5W or Purple Dragon 537). The DHS Fang Bo B2 and B2X are OK, very nice touch with Limba, but still too fast for me for tournaments, USATT 1450. I am currently using the Victas Swat which is my lowest frequency blade (1150 vs. 1400 on the B2X) and I really enjoy the control and spin.
I couldn't resist ordering the Yinhe Pro 05 which is Limba top, inner KLC, so probably like the B2X. $62 at AliExpress ... I have the Pro 01 and the quality is outstanding (Koto top internal, low dwell time though).

let us know how you find your new Pro 05.

PS, I have a Stiga Emerald VPS which is ebony top. I don't find it too hard, in fact I find it too slow without the carbon. so I just not sure about this new blade.
