North Korea's state-run broadcaster, Korean Central TV (KCTV) aired Wednesday footage of athletes and coaches training at the Pyongyang Youth Street Sports Village, emphasizing their efforts to bring honor to their country with gold medals. Among those featured were Kim Kum-yong and Ri Jong-sik, who won silver in the mixed doubles table tennis event.

In an interview, Kim said, "We gained valuable experience and lessons from last year's Asian Games and this year's Olympics. We are now rigorously training for upcoming international competitions."

it's only day 1 and we've already got the contender for best team match of the tournament. NK player's technique is essentially the old Chinese style so watching them delivering fh blows is satisfying, but at the end they lack the variance in their game to make it through the home team

Same as the last edition, seeding for MT/WT is based on the results of the previous ATTC. CHN didn't play in 2021 and was unseeded in 2023 and completely messed up the group and main draw.

Seeding of teams shall be based on results of the last Championships. Any
disputes because of absentee or new teams/players shall be resolved
according to the ITTF World Team Ranking and at the decision of the
Technical and Umpire Committee of ATTU.
Individual Events:
Seedings for Singles events will be based on the Week 40 (1st October
2024) ITTF World Ranking List. Seedings for Doubles events will be based
on the combined rank of the pair’s Doubles Individuals Ranking on the
Week 40 (1st October 1, 2024) ITTF World Doubles Individual Ranking List.
