Lol, from Li Jiayi's post-match interview, seems like the Chinese coaches do not think much about Hayata's techniques and potential? She basically name-dropped Xiao Zhan, Ma Lin, Li Sun and Guo Yan who all allegedly told her that Hayata's overall ability has yet to reach a level that can threaten the CNT, merely that the young Japanese player is very aggressive and relentless in her shots. But Li did acknowledge that her arm was twisted from the third game onwards as Hayata significantly raised the quality of her shots and she even expressed empathy towards Hayata, citing that the latter must be under tremendous pressure to win as competition for an Olympics slot within JNT is very intense and tough luck on the 19 year-old to draw Chinese players all the time.
Hayata should move out of the country like what Hamamoto did
Nah. Yamamoto was at a lower level. You don't look to change country at Hayata's level. She could easily be in the top 3 in a few years and is unlikely to be outside the top 6 for years to come.
Actually you have a very good chance of seeing her. Canada Op at Markham in December is a Challenge + tournament. Hayata won two of these already, and may well participate again. My dream of seeing Hayata in Canada is now in shambles
Yeah I believe that, I think they said that to calm her down and not over think and crumble due to pressureThey probably said that partly to keep her calm and help her play her best. If you are CNT A, you are CNT A even if you are tier 2. Li Jiayi has beaten good players in the Super League so no doubt she could beat Hayata. Hayata has beaten CNT players too but as they pointed out, there is so much power and too little consistency.
We Will see, there are many others good looking players like Kihara, Kato and others.Nah. Yamamoto was at a lower level. You don't look to change country at Hayata's level. She could easily be in the top 3 in a few years and is unlikely to be outside the top 6 for years to come.
Come on, she may have lost one match to Kato but if Kato is her competition, definitely no need to travel. Kihara, Nagasaki and Harimoto are coming up so I get it.We Will see, there are many others good looking players like Kihara, Kato and others.
Hayata improved but china improved as well to beat her whenever they meet. Of course she is very young and has time but must be aware that there are others waiting for their chance.
Mostly you are right. I am just trying to point that sometimes after few good matches and growth in form people try to find another chinese slayer. It is just I do not see it like that and I am not that sure she will develop enough to be at top chinese players level.Come on, she may have lost one match to Kato but if Kato is her competition, definitely no need to travel. Yes but even with all the good players, she is in contention at a higher level than Hamamoto, who was not going to make the team with her best play. When you are top 8, even if you don't make the team, the ball can bounce in your favor sometimes or for short periods. People can forget Mu Zi or Fang Bo or Yan An or Wu Yang on CNT but that I think is Hayata's floor status on JNT. Hamamoto was going to struggle to stay in the top 15 over time so leaving made sense IMO. Look at the trials and results and the age of the player.
