Beginner JPen blades - what's the YSE of JPens?

I see, thank you for the opinion of the revolver! I genuinely thought it would be like a rocket 😅 (carbon.)
There's another revolver, very similar to Garaydia in term of the shape, but without carbon. It's Hadraw Revolver. I have one in my possession (EJ never dies), but haven't given it a try.

This thread seems to have descended into EJing (and even a bit of DIY 😆) but the true answer here is the Yasaka Double Face II JP (for a harder touch, Nittaku Acute is very popular).
It's genuinely all-round, unlike some of the other options listed ("slightly slower than 1 ply" etc) so you can approach it just like you would a Yasaka Extra.
And when the user wants to upgrade to something faster, having learnt the basics, they can upgrade to Yasaka Musashi or Nittaku Miyabi.
This keeps it relatively affordable, in comparison, as these blades are commercialy available from Japanese (English language) sites. No need to hunt on forums, telegrams etc. and haggle on discontinued items - or heavily modify CPen blades!

What would you compare the garaydia revolver to?
I just got it for Christmas but haven't had a chance to test it yet.
Oh are you going to try an RPB JPen style like Taisei Matsushita?
That could be interesting. He doesn't step-around though and has a 'penhold-shakehand' style like Qiu Dang.
Garaydia seems like the best option for that. That's a Hinoki top ply, right?

Yes, I think it's hinoki outer ply. 3W + 2C.

I think Garaydia Revolver is more for twiddling. There are other jpen blades that are better for RPB, like blades with kiso handle by Armstrong.

I just use old school tpb, and a weird bh flick, which is why I was searching for a light blade. My garaydia weighs 55 grams lol

Very very light if only using 1 side. I dabbled with RPB, but eventually saw too many cons. Dignics 05 and 09c seem to be the top picks of the RPB pros. I personally found the feeling of 1.9 thickness a little nicer on RPB, especially if not using it further out.
Alternatively, you could put a LP on it and return serves that way, like NZ champ Eli Ho does.
