Any alternative rubbers with nice spin, arc, maybe also with a bit less speed and maybe softer?
I tried andro R42 but like its to hard.
I like soft rubbers.
Xiom Vega Elite ,softer and slightly slower, spin is also less .Works well on Xiom Diva.
Tibhar fx-s soft and slower, grip is a bit less

I noticed on forum also Tibhar FX-D, is this rubber alternative for Butterfly 05fx?
Which one is faster? harder, more control, more spiny, arc?

I have tried FX-P, EL-S, MX-P and MX-S. They are very catapulty. I assuem FX-D will be the same.

If you said Butterfly 05fx is too catapulty, then C-1 and Rakza 7 soft would be a better choice for you. Both C-1 and Rakza 7 Soft are also known for their durability. They last like forever.

What I would add to this by way of caution is that I like T05 FX and C1 but found R7 soft to be way too soft and felt mushy to me when I used it.

I would like to resurrect this thread.
For the FH?

Today I tried Omega 7 euro in 2mm on fh but it is very different too 05fx.
Maybe not bad but different, i think I was more consistent with it in all round play.
Better blocks and drives and serve returns.
Worse in arc and loop and serve.

But it's maybe too far away from 05fx.

So I keep thinking about C1 but never try it, but i think I would like it being 2mm and having the thick topsheet
Otherwise I am tempted by Omega 7 pro but worry it will be too similar to MX-P

Would be very interested what thomas pong and Next level have to say as they are experienced in the C1 I think from memory!

In Stats

Omega 7 Euro
7 - 5 to me

05fx
4 - 9 against

Although I felt better with the tenergy the stats suggest otherwise. Same opponent!

Andro Hexer Powergrip SFX. Not the same grip as it is a different brand, but a very good alternative. Acuda S2 is another alternative which I really like
I really like Accuda S2 for BH, but it’s nothing like T05FX…

A rubber similar to T05FX?
Tibhar Aurus Soft and/or Tibhar Evo FX-S are probably the closest alternatives imo. Personally I'd go for Aurus Soft. Topsheet lasts a long time. Bounce is also fairly similar. You might get a (tiny) bit more spin out of the FX-S, but it's sponge dies faster. So go for Aurus Soft; it's worth the money.

Xiom Vega is a beginners rubber
Well, it's budget friendly, as most Vegas are, but as for the (aforementioned) Vega Europe, it's not really similar to T05FX imo. The Europe is noticibly slower than T05FX and the topsheet is supersoft, whereas the Tenergy topsheets are rather firm and tight, which again points to the Aurus Soft, which is not as soft as the Vega Europe and as the name indicates; it's just softer than the regular Aurus.

And yet some people suggests Accuda S2 as a replacement…

Cheers

That's correct that Acuda S2 is a very good backhand rubber. Since replacement for 05FX in this post means a rubber which is not made by butterfly and still is good for the backhand. Unless I am misreading the comments.

It is well known that Butterfly spring sponge is Butterfly spring sponge. All the rubbers that enable you to play somewhat like Tenergy or Dignics are not rubbers that feel like Tenergy or Dignics. You can just sometimes make similar shots with them or play somewhat similar styles. If you want Butterfly, it has a reasonable longevity advantage, just buy it and use it, and stop focusing on price. This is table tennis not golf.
