Once again, not well-received by Tieba users.

(Ovtcharov 3-2 Calderano)

(Hugo has looked confusing lately, making odd decisions about the sponsorship and changing rackets here and there, but I still feel that his physical condition is not the reason for his losses. Hugo has also entered a period without titles)

(It seems like a desperate attempt to find a solution. Terminating his contract with Xiom and trying out Joola is a bit of a mystery. He lost his first match with the new racket. Let's see how he fares in the World Cup in April. Hugo is best suited to playing the seamless ball)

(I guess he's been busy opening his club, doing promotions, and signing contracts. He's not playing in the Bundesliga, and he hasn't been training properly either. He's been playing with too many lousy Brazilian guys every day. His skill level has dropped.)

(Calderano 2-3 Ovtcharov)

(He didn't change his racket in the second half of last year, and his performance wasn't great either)

(It seems the new racket isn't working out!)

(Is Hugo playing the clown?)
https://tieba.baidu.com/p/10379242468
(They're all manufactured in South Korea. It's not like Joola couldn't have South Korea make a pure innerfiber racket. That one should be considered an experiment. Joola finally signed Hugo, so they'll definitely produce more than just one blade)

(In fact, both Joola and Xiom use the same Korean manufacturer for their main blades, with the same or similar structure)

So are you hinting that Matt is not being fully forthcoming based on the fact that Joola has had issues as a corporation? Trying to understand your angle here.

I am also not sure what you expect to be the result of this. Do you think it is a good look to accuse someone who is sharing his personal experience and knowledge working for a company of being not forthcoming on the basis of nothing factually related to what they have done? Again, you were the one that found the posts from over 2 years ago that were entirely consistent with what he has posted on the thread so far. It's not like Matt woke up this morning and started claiming that Joola has had issues with prior contracted distributors in China and is now working with a new structure.

Thankfully, Matt has been posting on this site for longer than even I have so he is not completely unable to deal with this or understand web board dynamics.

I am wondering though that when you think of this website as trying to connect to the table tennis community, whether what you are doing is a step in the right direction or not. And what you expect to be the outcome of it. And whether you are posting this stuff just because it is Matt or because you would have done it any equipment rep posting their experiences.

Please refer to my previous post. I've procrastinated on ESN. Time to get started on that.

So what do you want Joola and Matt as a rep to come clean on? Public information? What do you want to hear specifically that hasn't been said already? Accusing people of being unethical in some broad way when they are sharing information and their personal experiences with us that they have no obligation to is a form of harassment and not going to cut it unless you have something really concrete along those lines to substantiate your position.

This whole thing started with you asking what examples there are of Joola and mismanagement and quite a few serious examples have been provided now, all of which are confirmable. I don't think anybody pinned this on Matt specifically and probably any reasonable person knows its not his fault but when someone comes as a representative of their organization naturally things will get directed at him. Do you have an issue with the statement that Joola justttt mightttt have a worse reputation than many other companies in this industry and needs to regain consumer trust especially in the USA?
Thank you. I'd add that the money spent on signing Calderano could've been diverted to supporting the Infinity robot for a little longer. It was a crowdfunded project, for crying out loud. How would the "stakeholders" feel about being marooned only to see Joola has moved on to pickleball and only back to table tennis to 避風頭 as we say it in Chinese?

Yes, I do have an issue, but that doesn't mean anything, I can learn and change my mind. I live in the USA. I know many people who disaparage (and people who also love) the Joola Teams ( I am in both camps). I attend the Joola Teams almost every year. I have never heard much about Joola that is significantly negative or with respect to any of the things that zeio has brought up. That doesn't mean much, and I can definitely be persuaded that these are all huge issues, but they are all new to me. MAy know more about them if I played pickleball.

And how would you justify the action of compiling quotes from Matt into one summary for convenient retrieval? An act of trust? Can't he just PM himself the links and keep them away from everyone and then bring them up in the future if he really thinks Matt is not being transparent?

Again, there are ways of bringing up these topics without making them come off as contentious or attacks on anyone's integrity. Style can and does matter. Thankfully, this is Matt, so I am wondering whether this is what will be the case if some else decides to disclose insider experiences to us. Are they going to be treated like this? If I invite a pro coach/player to come and post online, is he going to get driven away because of some stories that are tangentially relevant to the discussion at hand?

There is absolutely nothing wrong IMHO with asking directly what Matt's position on some of these issues are, or even saying that because of these issues, zeio personally has issues trusting anything someone from Joola says. But zeio isn't doing that.

@zeio, this really isn't a philosophical debate and it isn't smart to troll me with posts from your banned account - I have pointed out that there is a clear difference between my calling myself or my actions dumb and you calling me dumb and that equating both might make sense to you but it doesn't pass the test of common sense - I would not ban most people for calling themselves dumb all the time, but I would ban them for calling others dumb repeatedly.

If you have evidence that Matt is not being truthful, feel free to share, but the broad insinuations are not going to cut it and will not be permitted based on the quality of evidence you have provided so far. Not everything you think is reasonable is suited to be posted on a public forum. Find and apply a reasonable filter.

Oh, please. You started a thread asking the opinions of members without consulting with me privately and you expect me to do the same with Matt which are all conducted in the open?

To spell it out for the special you:
ESN: Here's the reference design of the latest and greatest for all of you to express your creativity! Let me know when you're done!
Xiom: Let me add an Xiom logo, make the sponge black and call it a day!
Joola: Let me add a Joola logo and call it Hugo Calderano Trinity Series because why not?
That’s not exactly how it works, if it was then Hugo would not need adjustment time.
No doubt it's an over-simplification on my part. Feel free to "knock some sense into me." ;) ("Investigate the nature of things, pursue knowledge, ...")

I am going to drop the Joola mismanagement talking points since clearly nobody here wants to seriously discuss it. Pretty much everyone in this place has an annoying way of messaging, myself probably included lol. I could find plenty of disparaging comments to the information that I tried to introduce towards this thread, plenty of which you endorsed, I wouldn't need to look far. Comments that one might say would "attack my integrity". Comments that one might say would not "connect the table tennis community".
As always, no one is interested in setting the premise. Same for ESN rubbers. A futile exercise.
