On the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] July 2011 the 8[SUP]th[/SUP] round of the Chinese super league began. In the super league the mighty Bayi continue to dominate in top place with their seventh win to date. Zhejiang now have a running streak of 4 straight victories. Jiangsu remain at the bottom of the league with no wins to their belt.

Bazhou 0-3 Zhejiang

Back in action Timo Boll started off in his opening match with an impressive win over Cui Qinglei from the Bazhou’s team. The German international won with scores 11-9, 11-8, and 16-14. In the second match, Ma Lin faced superstar Xu Xin sponsored by Stiga. Ma Lin once again in devastating form defeated Xu Xin with a 3-1 victory 11-9, 8-11, 11-8 and 11-6.

Zhejiang now in a 2-0 lead, increased it to a 3-0 win as Ma Lin and Hao Shuai defeated Li Ping and Cui Qinglei 3-2. The players put up a very good fight and narrowly lost out by 11-8, 7-11, 12-10, 7-11, and 11-9.

This is the fourth win in a row for Zhejiang. This is Bazhou’s fourth straight loss in the Chinese Super League 2011.


Shandong 3-1 Sichuan

Qiu Yike started of the opening match for Sichuan facing in form Fang Bo. Both players played extremely well with Qiu Yike standing victories with a 11-5 game win the fifth set.

Zhang Jike opened up the second match to defend Shandong. Zhang dominated the game against Xu Ruifeng to win 11-4, 11-6 and 11-8. Shandong’s pairing of Zhang Yu and Xu Ruifeng defeated Fang Bo and Zhang Chao in the third match in a clean sweep winning 11-7, 11-9, and 11-4.

The fourth match was the crowd pleaser with Zhang Jike against Qiu Yike. The current reigning world champion Zhang has a hard battle and scrapped the victory for Shandong to win 11-6, 5-11, 11-3, 5-11, and 11-9.

This is Shandong’s sixth win whilst its Sichuan’s fifth loss in the season.


Jinzhou 1 – 3 Bayi

Shang Kun of Jinzhou was the first man to step into the court against the powerful Wang Hao. Shang Kun played superbly in taking the game to the fifth set to successfully defeat Wang Hao in five with scores 6-11, 11-8, 4-11, 11-9, 11-7.

Bayi’s teenage sensation Yan An quickly levelled the match scores by defeated Wang Liqin of Jinzhou 3-1 (11-9, 8-11, 11-9, 11-9). In the third match saw Yan An and Zhou Yu defeat Shang Kun and Zhai Yiming. Bayi’s doubles paring won 11-8, 11-4, and 11-5.

The fourth match had everyone on edge as it was the battle of the titanic’s!. Wang Liqin and Wang Hao battled it out to gain a point for their teams. Wang Hao displayed great control to put his name on the winning score card with scores 11-2, 11-7, 6-11, and 11-3.

This is Bayi’s third consecutive win with only 1 loss. This is Jinzhou’s seventh loss with only 1 win to their name.


Jiangsu 1-3 Ningbo

The opening match up in this match was Chen Qi who scored a 3-1 win over Jiangsu’s Wang JianJun. Ma Long managed to level the match destroying his opponent Han Yansu of Jiansu 3-0 with scores 11-5, 11-9, and 11-4.

Jiangsu’s doubles pairing lost to Wu Hao and Wang Jianjun 6-11, 11-4, 14-16, 2-11.
In the fourth match, Ma Long was in total control defeating National team mate Chen Qi of Jiangsu 3-0 with scores 11-5, 11-4, and 11-5.

This win was Ningbo’s fourth victory in the Chinese Super League whilst it was Jiangsu’s eighth straight defeat.
