Zhang Jike/Ma Long in Men's Double Quarterfinals

It's a little odd that some players tend to perform well in certain tournaments than others. Quarterfinals in men's singles this year is already the best result for Xu Xin in the last five national championships (2008 - 2014). He was twice stopped by Yan An in Round of 16 in 2012 and 2011, beaten by Qiu Yike in Round of 16 in 2010, and lost to Chen Qi in Round of 16 in 2008.

Boll, SAMSONOV, Ma Lin always had good results in the World Cup but not in the World Championships.

OVTCHAROV has been in three Grand Finals, but every time existed in the first round.

Zhang Jike has been in three Grand Finals and three Asian Championships but had never won.

Wang Liqin has three world champion titles and just couldn't win once in his nine appearances in the World Cup.

Ma Lin has four world cups and failed to win one title in his nine appearances in the World Championships.

Ma Long has won four Asian Cups, three Asian Championships, three Grand Finals, but had not won a title in his four appearances in the World Championships.

Wang Hao has won almost everything a player could win in table tennis except for the Olympics despite three tries. He has won at least once in the following events:World Championships, World Cup, Grand Finals, Asian Games, Asian Championships, Asian Cup, Chinese National Games, Chinese National Championships.
