Correct Technique for Arm on Forehand Topspin

It is her best stroke. You haven't watched the matches lol.
Kim Kum Yong is amazing. Too bad she didn’t have a spot in singles at Paris OG. All serious rivals will need to spend special time to learn to fight her style

maybe Hayata would have beaten straight and fair. she's doing well against pips players
Yeah but Kim is a different breed, i never thought i would see a better lefty He Zhuoja with a real chop block. I think if He Zhuoja could chop block as well as Kim, she would be on the first national team. The hitting is on the same level but the chop block as variation to stay in the point is not. And the lefty forehand gives Kim another dimension and because it isn't Chinese rubber, it is more speedy too. Hayata lefties would help but beyond that, she is on her own because the chop blocks would bring her in.

I did. She won many points just by slapping with FH 😂
Actually a lot of those 'slaps' are really fade loops. Most pros loop with the natural hooked sidespin but she almost specializes in the fade counter and fade loops. The sidespin of the ball is in the opposite direction to what most ppl are used to seeing from a FH stroke. Plus she is left handed. She also is adept at killing spin with the same stroke, so it is really difficult to adjust quickly.

Basically, the lesson is that it pays off to be weird in TT. Dont do something that everyone does, because it is what ppl see and train against every single day.

It still looks like a slap to me.. LOL

Active block? IDK

Edit: Or maybe if KKY does it people will say it's a high level stroke but if an hobbyist does, it's just a slap 😂

This is actually not a slap, it is a fast FH countertopspin. You can see how the ball reacted on Miwa's racket, it flew out as if it had heavy topspin even though her bat angle was not open..... Her movement is extremely compact, a bit like Liu Shiwen.

If you want to see FH slaps, Ito is the one who loves doing it - you see opponents return her smashes right into the base of the net most of the time
