If you look, he gave the time. The rally starts at about 4:56:10; Eugene Wang hits a ball that catches the net and goes left, outside of the table; Bob Chen hits a touch shot around the net that rolls. He hit the ball from very close to the ground and had the touch to get it to roll on the table. That is an unreturnable around the net shot.

I think the rally you are talking about starts at 11:20. It is a good rally and I think you are right. Mengel lost his focus for a few points after that edge. Good find. Thanks.

Can someone explain the rally that begins around 1:10 to me? Was it a cracked ball that caused the bad bounce or just a bad bounce? Since the point was replayed, I assume it was a cracked ball. You don't get a replay if it was just a bad bounce, do you?

No you only get replay if a plastic ball gets cracked during a rally.
Those rules apply only for plastic balls..
