It may be helpful to post a video of how you play now so others can give a more informed suggestion as you may have improved alot since last time
Oh no, saying that in an EJ discussion is like giving out a license to kill.
I'll stick to my original idea then. Use that for a while, because invariably everything will feel off for the first half a year or whatever. Then once the rubbers start to wear out I'll think about it more. My only rule is no Tenergy and no 200 dollar blades for now.
Will any 80-90g 5ply allround blade be fine? I think I should stay away from 7ply and obviously carbon.
Really. I was going for FX-S because I was afraid FX-P would be too fast on the backhand and just fly out every time. My original pick was FX-P, though, but I read more into it and decided on FX-S. So perhaps it's more of a thing for advanced players who can sink the ball more.I think you could get a Tibhar Stratus Power Wood and FXS on both sides and it would probably be fine for you. It could be FXP too. I like MXP and FXP better for me than the S versions....for me, they feel more alive and dynamic. It is not as easy to generate spin with them but they are more dynamic. The S series gets great spin but I felt like you needed really strong impact power to get what they can provide. So, I would say the S series may be better for players who are a little more advanced and P series is easier to use in general.
But, as with all equipment, different players will have different opinions on any piece of equipment.
To do that, I would need to play first. To play first, I would need to get a setup. 😅It may be helpful to post a video of how you play now so others can give a more informed suggestion as you may have improved alot since last time
I think you should just buy whatever you're drawn to at the moment, it is more valuable to have something you can hit the ball with and to actually play with it than it is to worry about the details and intricacies of specific equipmentTo do that, I would need to play first. I am probably worse now. I haven't really played since about 2018. I don't think all the bad habits have undone themselves just like that.
With any luck, perhaps someone will borrow me their setup for a minute at the club and they might film it and I can post it here. Otherwise the first time I hit a ball again will be with what I got.
Yeah, probably. I will take Carl's word on the FX-P over S, I was originally drawn to the P anyway. H3 is cheap, so I guess it is not a big loss to use it for a while and just make my own verdict on it.I think you should just buy whatever you're drawn to at the moment, it is more valuable to have something you can hit the ball with and to actually play with it than it is to worry about the details and intricacies of specific equipment

I didn't think I would be ready for an OFF- blade, but in truth the Evolution was a bit slow off the table. With the new ball I suspect this is exaggerated. OFF- may be more "long-term viable" as I do not want to keep changing blades around for no reason.
Thanks, I guess it is decided. Build quality looks good on the SPW, and a lot of people seem to have moved up from an Allround Evolution to SPW, which is my case as well. I guess I will go with my original plan and the slightly faster blade and then forget about it for a few months and just play. If I hate it, I can always change. It can't be worse than worn-out 729FX.What I said about FXP is how I like them. You might feel differently than I do. Nothing wrong with trying H3 if you want to.
The blade I suggested should be fine. The blades you were looking at would be as well. With a rubber like H3 on FH you probably would be better off with something like the Stratus Power Wood though. Not super fast, but faster than what you are looking at. It should be fine. But choose what you want.
BOOOOOOOOGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRR !!!!Heya I see the goon squad has been very active. Hide all you secret equipment !
Haggisv at OOAK runs that forum and knows everything, a very great dude he is.Thanks, I guess it is decided. I'm local to OOAK, so I'm not too stressed on when I buy the setup. I can just go there to pick it up. I do wanna figure out the program at my local club first, though. I suspect they are open to newcomers, but you never know. I'll play with anyone anywhere, but I don't know how the culture is here.
On that note, is anyone local to Adelaide and wants to hit? I'd be happy just blocking for you if that's what you want; I need to get some feeling again.
Looks like a pendulum serve lesson, but looks like she needs to improve her grip too!Can you guess what the the lesson is about?View attachment 27180
