I like D80 but I really can't say it does any one thing particularly well. It loses in spin and arc to D05/D09C and it also loses to D64 in speed and spin-insensitivity. Its not as explosive or as reactive as T05 either. I think D80 is the control/balance Dignics, it is easier to use than D09C/D05 (not as hard feeling, less reactive) and it also has the edge in spin over D64 even though I think D64 is easier to activate and use especially on bh because of its softer feeling and more direct nature. It is a more controlled/subdued rubber compared to T05, but T05 allows you easier access to shot quality. I think Mizutani is the best example of what D80 is best suited for, stronger balance between offense and defense, playing around and a bit off the table aiming to counterloop, strong rally and allround attacking skills. Strongly attacking at the table is better assigned to D09C/D05 because of the stronger spin, and playing fast/quick at the table D64 would be more ideal because of the flatter arc and easier activation. But in the end it depends on the feelings of the user
