doe nobody else play this awesome Rubber,i find it is the best Donic Rubber since the Acuda Series.
Hybrid Like, the most grippy rubber with no tack i ever played and his 52.5 are really on the softer side.
Have a great Dwell time on BTY Kiso V and find it a bit funny that the new Gnextion,Nuzn, etc get talked about a lot.
The new Gewo series is also not talked about at all here?as is the Juic Neo Galaxy which ok on their website said it was 10 years in The Making i Also play the A1 so maybe we can make a general Bluestar A!,2 and 3 Thread.
What do you others like with this rubber?
I know the price is shitty but has gone down already, and i can´t find much bad to say about it,even the duranility seems to be decent compaired to some Tibhar Rubbers.

I liked Bluestar A2 a lot (50 deg if I recall?) but I did find it to show wear pretty quickly on top sheet. I am keen to try A3 as the med/softer sponge suits me right now

yeah the initial slight tack wears off rather quick, but high gripp stays,I have it now for 6 months altough only train 2x per week now cause of my herniated disk but i am pretty sure never had such high grip even after the break in and tack waerdown(slight) i find the Rubber also precise and not to hard for that degree, cause the topsheet is somewhat softer than a Gewo Superselect or something.
But if i played ´the A1 on a Acarbon blade it would ne another story,I have a Spectra outer and Walnut top ply Custom SDC Blade on that it would be a completely other story.
I just found it curious cause i found them to be a great series after all the Blue....named donic rubbers maybe people got so confused,or Questioned what is the diffference or top end Bluestorm Pro,etc...
Same as withthe new Gewo series nobody talks about it.

A few comments (to the OP, the original video and various comments):

1) The tester in the video seemed to enjoy A2 quite a bit! He was able to lift A2 for a second or so on his test. I think it is tacky enough.

2) I have boycotted any ESN rubber above $50. No way I am paying over $50 for a piece of rubber. I have to draw my line somewhere.

3) I have played with Barracuda, M2 and Acuda S2. The durability is just fine.

4) Among ESN rubbers, Yasaka Rakza series and Nittaku Fastarc series just last like forever... I don't think any other ESN rubber can beat it. By the way I am convince that Rakza 7 soft and Fastarc C-1 must share the same sponge or similar sponge. When I open them from the package, the rubber is already curled up. I also have trouble with both of them trying to glue them uniformly on the blade with the edge sticking due to "lack of glue" there even though I put two layers on the blade and two to three layers on the rubber.

5) Xiom Vega series, especially Vega Pro, shows wears and tear on the topsheet pretty fast but they do not affect play. The Vega series are the best bang for the buck in terms of money spent v.s. th amount of performance you get.

well the tack wears off rather quickly, but the Bluestar as i said can be played at least half a year ,like i have him now and is still grippy and about 90-85% and doesn´t wear down as quick as others,i also liked the Acuda and i think it goes in that direction with the Bluestar.
Yeah 50.- is really the limit, but in germany there is often the 100.- price point where you get 20% off on the rubbers.which at the current price of 60.- comes down to 48.- then..
yes i plyed the Vega, but didn´t like the carbo sponge that much, even played v 47.5 j%H i have some problems with the catapult with xiom rubbers especially the v 47.5.
Yeah but there are so much donic BLue.....shootmedead rubbers out there that a lot of people are confused.they should rebrand, the new generation

hey, i am in the middle of finding a new forehand rubber for the upcoming season and am interested in the bluestar a2 since the price has dropped to 48€. i played with vega pro H before and even though the spin was great, the speed was just too slow on hard strokes for me. i started with some chinese rubber experiments like rxton 3 pro and rxton 9. but i would need to change to much of my technics to get these rubber to shine and this is too risky so shortly before the season. a friend of mine said i should try bluestar before bluegrip, so anybody any thoughts about Donic Bluestar A2?

PS: i have an unpacked bluegrip c2 at home, but am a bit worried about the 55 degree sponge since i played with rxton 9 in the 39° version (so 51° esn) and this was enough for me. should i rather wait and test the bluestar before?

Never tried the new Vega Pro H but the Bluestar A1 is my choice for FH.
It is faster than other Hybrids soi thik it should fit your bill, spin is topnotch, speed is faster than the Hybrid Mk or G009c etc and the topsheet is somewhat softer.
So even the A1 doesn´t feel hard as do other rubbers with hard sponge and firm topsheet.

sounds good! can you compare it with hybrid mk, because i tried that rubber. it had not enough spin for me and people told me the durability should be really bad. vega pro H was normal with 3-4 months same as vega x.

at the end of the week just started using it,but i played the Bluestar for lponger and the durability iso the better side of the newer Hybrids.
The Bluestar series has also a more Tensor like characteristics ,it is liear though, than te Tbhar Hybrid and K series
After next training this week i try to direct compare and switch them more.
Ach bist ja auch Deutsch, glaube der könnte genau da Stäörken haben nach dehnen du suchst.

Bluestar A2, been using it for a couple months now (twice weekly) - I think I’ve finally found the right FH rubber for my blade and style.

I used the Hugo HAL (Viscaria build without the carbon, but still acrylate layer) so it is crisp at low gears but muted at higher gears. But it’s a linear blade still, so you do require to add your own power

A2 for me balances it out by giving catapult when needed with the tensor sponge; hybrid topsheet keeps receives shorter; and somehow the click/crisp is there!

Now then only other hybrids I’ve tried is Nittaku Seiger, Hybrid MK, Glayzer09c, Bluegrip J2, which all had small differences (I can elaborate if needed). But I’ve found the A2 to be perfect for my setup.
