National Team Comp a few years ago slapped my bat on my thigh after missing a sitter in the semi finals and hey ho two parts!. Had to beg with the umpire to allow me to play with another bat as he thought i had done it on purpose. Worse when I asked my team mates if i could borrow one they all looked a little worried!.The only spare I had was friendship on both side! classy didn't do very well after that!.

Great thread!!:) I love the one M.O.S.Serve got beaten by a 15 year old girl. Obviously your silly serves didn't have any effect on her. hehe I was beaten by a 70 year old man mate, I don't know which is worse:)

Alexander hit his nose with his racket, I hit my forehead with my racket so many times I lost count:)

Reborn's racket slipped out of his hand and hit the girl on the next table??! That was just hilarious buddy:p Never happened to me. But once I was playing doubles, my partner was slow getting out of the way on my FH. I took a big swing and my racket hit his butt and flew across the table! I saw the opponents running for cover:)

But the most embarrassing has to be in 1993 when I was playing in Romford, UK. I was going for a wide, very low FH. My knee hit my lips after executing the shot. The game had to stopped because my lips were bleeding profusely and on top of that, I chipped my front tooth. For two months before I got it capped, people were avoiding me coz they thought I was a brawler and a thug.

After all the embarrassments that happened to me, they're nothing compared to what happened to Dan!! hahahaha Hilarious buddy!! Nice one:p

Yes, but in my occasion I still don't know how i managed to do that but it hurted a lot!!! I also don't know how I didn't knock out myself...

My most embarrassing moments include hitting my forehead after a forehand loop, losing to a wheelchair player, walking past a court and their ball flew out of the court, landed exactly where I was about to step, and I stomped on it by accident. My other embarassing moment was at training I played a BH loop and my bat flew like a frisbee into the next court.

On a couple of occasions I have been known to hit my chin or face while fanning myself with my bat, you look pretty stupid doing that lol

I think personally for me when I was a very young an inexperienced junior the most embarrassing moment for me and one that I still resent is losing to an international player 11-0 in both of the first two sets. I was so distressed after the first set and unsettled that the second set was even more difficult. I managed 7 in the last set but was still sorely disgraceful effort haha

Once Played doubles and forgot the score and didnt look on the scoreboard before next point.. all I knew is that it was quiet close like 9-9,10-9,9-10 or smth like that...
So next Point was really strange and I somehow got in an extreme position where i had to make a no-look-topspin... I did not see wether the ball was in or out, but I saw my doubles mate walking to our coach, so I just followed him..
While the coach still gave us advices for the next set I still wondered "WHO THE "§$% JUST WON THAT SET??"^^ So I asked... They both laughed their asses off.. Most Hilarious/Embarrasing moment in my TT-Career^^

My friend also had a good one. She played in the Global Cadet Challenge in India start of last year and hit a big forehand on the last point of the set, it missed, she stepped backwards off it, lost her balance wobbled another step backwards, gained momentum and kind of ended up stumbling back from the table then eventually landing square on her arse about a metre from the back of the playing area. The best part was that it was on ITTV so we all spread it round and everyone got to watch it haha

p.s my favourite one so far is the bat hitting the girl btw that's a classic :p

Loosing to a wheelchair player ain't that bad.. I've lost to class 5 world nr. 1 Tommy Urhaug before, and he ain't a bad player :p

Para players can be QUITE good. Losing to World #1 is no disgrace, certainly. I am not mentally tough enough to employ the best tactics against players in chairs, which is to lob. :-/ Highly skilled para players will deny you the opportunity and more recreational para players...well it just seems unfair to employ that strategy, doesn't it. :) Worth a try on short children, too.

My opponent getting a thin edge of the table when I had match point and me celebrating and starting to walk to shake hands before my brain finally realised his shot had hit..

ive got too close to the ball on my service throw up and hit myself in the glasses a few times- its very confusing haha
apart from that, i cant think of any, although i had an embrassing point win when i was playing against one of our younger juniors (about 10 vs me a 15 yr old) and i was doing some nice chops to give him a game, then he pushed it, it caught the top of the net, i came sprinting in, couldnt think of what to do so went for an "under the net" style joo shot...
anyway, i lifted the ball with my pimps, it hits the corner of the net POST (the square plastic bit on top) and shoots straight over to the other side of the table in a stright 180 ish degree line from the net (so straight across the width of the table), then hits this poor kids edge on the OTHER side of the width of the table- no way was he getting that back i felt awful.
The week after, i was in training in a loop loop forehand rally and i was out wide so i attempted a sidespinloop, which caught the plastic net post again and shot across the width of the table again like id smashed it at the guy i was training with- he didnt return it haha it was the sort of shot that even ma long wouldnt have got back!!!

One of partner took a hardbat from churh's TT drawer to play. The ball's flight path return by him just got some very flight path, you can see the ball swing left and right and left and right. Couldn't figure out what the heck of spin of every ball returned, they just keep changing. Yea, it took me 5-10 matches before I just realize flat hit hard smash all the way to win.

But actually, I think that hardbat has the pip height to diameter ratio which is banned by ITTF lol... But it just due to the parters they never get a proper TT training or any up to date info, I kind of unable to make a further explaination for them, as the guy who give this bat a try thought I could not play agains pip at all >.>
