I did not see him playing particularly much to KJs backhand but maybe you saw something I didn't. But in cases that he did, it likely has to do with the playing position and angles he wants to not allow Kanak to play easily, like getting forced to his own wide forehand as he prefers to play out of the backhand half step around and can't cover the wide forehand area especially with how early Kanak plays the ball.
