Just crazy the continental advantage being eligible to be locked into Oceania and Latin America.
you are right, but this is just to even the playing field, so it isn't just Europe vs Asia like in the past.
It does hold some merit, but I would want a discount in those points and not full 500.
But that is just life now.

Australia number 1 by default is top 50 in the world basically.

@Tony's Table Tennis you only compete with the rules set up in place. Wouldn’t it be strategic to have a promising junior under your care immigrate to such continents especially if there is family connections involved?

I do remember ITTF set up rules but it doesn’t really become punitive unless you are over 18?

In this hypothetical example the junior can register to naturalise to Oceania/Latin America and continue to compete in league in their original country or Germany/France?

Once in the WTT broken system, they are pretty much guaranteed a top 40 world ranking.

We do have Hildy Chen and Jessica Lai that has gone the USA route - following Sally Moyland.
And Jessica actually has a shot at LA 2028.

Hildy was U15 national in Taiwan, but Sally was a top U18 in Taiwan.
All 3 still trains full time in Taiwan.

There was another girl who has Australian citizenship and I actually suggested her about 2032 OG, but she has put up her racket (boot) for academic, and has entered the top girls school (by academic points) in Taiwan. She had U19 Taiwan national colors at age 14 and would have no problem become U19 Aus no1 at 14 years (she is 16 now) and fight for an OG spot in the coming years.

we had Singapore scouting some of our kids before, from age 12/13, but the brothers didn't end up going.

There is an Australian kid training full time in Taiwan
Eli Ho of NZL also spends a lot of time in Taiwan
These 2 are Taiwanese immigrants come back to train.

and I think immigration/naturalizing is not on many peoples radar as many still want to be part of Taiwan's system. Just like league isn't, until I got involved and exporting 20+ players.

Best chance to reach the SF for Togami?
MS R16
Togami 2-3 Jorgic (7) (-3, -9, 2, 1, -5)
Ugh, played like crap. U for useless.

MS R16
Uda 0-3 Duda (-9, -5, -2)
Uda had a great start in G1 and then self-imploded...

Still teammate-less for Harimoto...

SYS (1) 3-0 Hayata (13) (5, 8, 5)
17 H2H 0, just a few away from 20+1 H2H 0 between ML and DO.
Where is your luck, Hayata?

WS R16
ZYL 0-3 Odo (-12, -8, -9)
ZYL had the early lead in G1 and G3.

Odo beats ZYL after getting bashed for her hidden serves the entire tournament and all over Chinese social media.
Strange tactics from Zhu feeding into Odo's rocket backhand throughout game 3.

AJH (16) 3-2 Harimoto (3) (8, -4, 7, -9, 8)
Still resistant to turning around and use the FH at 7:5 of G1.

Harimoto has to get past AJH before that if nothing goes wrong, but overall a more favorable draw compared to the others.

Zhu thought she could mess up Odo's timing, it was one strength against another strength, Odo just won out. Zhu won out using such tactics in the past, Odo was better prepared and aware this time.

They need to figure out how to get TTR on more tables, not fair to have that only one table.

All signs point to Odo being a very strong contender for LA2028. I think Japan Head Coach Nakazawa pairing Odo with Miwa and now personally coaching the XD pair of Sora / Odo shows his level of confidence in her. Beating ZYL 3-0 is just icing on the cake.

I think Satsuki was very smart in how she's managed her push for LA2028. First in the doubles department Asian Championship Champions with Yokoi, Silver Medalist in XD at WTTC with Yoshimura, 4 WTT WD titles with Miwa. And then not only her high top 8 results in singles, but she has a strong set of reserve points when her top points expire. Sure, she has trouble with the top Chinese, but who doesn't?

Agree with this assessment for AJH, but Oh Jun Sung, not so much. Oh's relative lack of forehand power stands out and his current playstyle minimizes the need for footwork. Nothing compared to step around and attacking heavy Koreans such as JWJ and AJH.

I agree about Oh Junsung, the kid is not comparable to AJH and JWJ.
Hugo had no trouble to dispatch him, contrasting with a much tougher match against Ruibo.

I wasn't referring to his playing strength as much as his playing style, but yes, he currently isn't as dangerous as the other Koreans and mainly, he doesn't play like them in the way that was described in what I originally replied to.
