European Veterans Table Tennis Championships-2025 - оofficial event that took place in the Novi Sad Fair "NOVOSADSKI SAJAM" hall in Novi Sad (Serbia) from 16 to 25 July 2025. The championship was held Serbian Table Tennis Association under patronage of European Table Tennis Union, under the supervision of Swaythling Club International (SCI) and approved by ITTF. Within the framework of the championship, 44 sets of medals were contested in singles and teams among men and women, in 11 age categories (40-44 years; 45-49 years; 50-54 years; 55-59 years; 60-64 years; 65-69 years; 70-74 years; 75-79 years; 80-84 years; 85-89 years: Over 90).
Playing Format
Each singles and doubles event shall be played in two stages.
In the first stage, qualifying groups of 3 or 4 players or pairs (depending on the number of entries) will be formed. If there are exactly 5 players or pairs in an event, the event will be played as a single round-robin group of 5.
In group play, 2 match points are awarded for a win, 1 point for a loss in a completed match, and 0 points for a loss in an unplayed or unfinished match. Group rankings are primarily determined by the total number of match points earned.
If two or more players or pairs have the same number of match points, their relative positions will be decided solely by the results of the matches between them. This includes, step by step, the number of matches won, the games won/lost ratio, and then the points ratio, as needed to break the tie.
If any player's or pair's position is determined during this process while others remain tied, the results involving the determined participants will be excluded from further calculations.
If, after all steps, the tie remains completely unbroken, the positions will be determined by drawing lots.
In the second stage, players or pairs finishing 1st or 2nd in their group will qualify for the main title events of the European Veterans Championships. Those finishing 3rd or 4th will move to the corresponding consolation events. Both stages will follow a knockout (play-off) format.
If an event consists of only 5 or fewer players or pairs, the second stage will not be played and the group winner will be declared the European Champion in that category.
Players or pairs who finished 2nd in the group will be placed in the opposite half of the draw from those who finished 1st in the same group. Likewise, 4th-placed participants will be placed opposite to those who finished 3rd from their group.
The playing area must be at least 10 meters long, 5 meters wide, and 4 meters high.
All matches shall be played as best-of-five games.
Each player is entitled to a 15-minute break between two matches.
