I'm pretty sure this is how other sports work. How does football work?
That's actually a pretty big debate in Germany currently - whether the clubs have to pay police for controlling the hordes of fans (aka hooligans). But I'm not sure it's reaching that kind of level in table tennis, even with FZD now in the country...

I wish they'd make football clubs pay for police security...

as long as the underwear fan is locked up in Chinese jail, it should be okay for now

Is the dortmund game today only avalible on Dyn or does someone know another stream?
Only available on Dyn. When FZD team plays Rednote streams the matches but does not stream the other teams matches.

Apparently tabletennis.tv bought the rights for TTBL but when I check the currently live page it did not show the Dortmund game as being live. If they do end up showing all the TTBL matches it’s cheaper than Dyn. $99.99 USD vs €162 per year. Maybe the rights that tabletennis.tv got for TTBL matches are only the ones Kanak Jha team plays plays similar to the Rednote deal with when FZD team plays.

It’s unfortunate that Dyn no longer streams the games on their Youtube channel for those of us outside Germany. Still there is no confirmation on whether Dyn works without a VPN for this season.

This article said 30 ttbl matches, that's far from everything. Thinking about how they would reach 30, maybe 1 per matchday, 1 per cup round + Final Four of each. That would be the best you could get with that number at least. Since they already missed a matchday probably something else though. For now the offer sounds even worse than Dyn to me anyway.

yep, I heard the same
but then Saarbrucken need to provide security at away matches too?
and security at away matches hotel?

that is a bit much/not fair for the club imo.
but for super stars, the super stars would have they own security, which I think in this case is Saabruckens detail.
but then the league/away clubs need to also provide security.

True, there's a lot to handle and the responsibilities are not fully obvious. I guess the extra money from rights sold to China could cover such costs. Then there's the question how that is distributed as well.

Football clubs pay for security inside the ground, but police presence needed falls on the state. On high risk matches there can be a more than 1k police required. Bremen govt went to court over this and since the verdict from this year extra costs on such matches can be passed on to the DFL (league). In practise that's the collective of clubs paying though.

I did think of this too.

some players did tell me this was a problem with their Hurricanes
But then again, in Taiwan, some places we play has aircon but also feels like there isn't.
note - Taiwan is extreme humid and even some foreign players with H3 struggle in Taiwan.

however, when it was snowing in Germany, some Taiwanese players Hurricane was unplayable.

I just told him to put the racket in his armpit when waiting, and he said he did.
some players use heat pouches and put them in bat covers, I am more skeptical about this method.
The man sweats like crazy. Maybe it does get to him. All the venues/gyms in my area are still uncomfortably warm. I rub my rubbers with my hands during winter if I have a match.

No Karlsson for Dortmund today (and no Lind, obviously).

Fan will play Nuytinck first, then Mino (but that may not be necessary).

And Ionescu beats Szudi 3-2. Dortmund without their top 2 players is just too weak.

1880 spectators today.

The second match today is Ochsenhausen vs Grenzau. This one should be shown for free, if you can figure out where to find it (I can't).

Saarbrücken also plays them again at home in just 5 days, because they've drawn them in R16 of the cup, hopefully with a bit better Dortmund.

Here is the channel for the free match

Kilian Ort takes over as coach at ASC
Good start for Ort - GWB is leading Dusseldorf 2-0. Shinozuka beat Li 3-1, and Apolonia Jha 3-0.

Anton beat Ric, so now it's up to Shinozuka against Jha.

Anyone watching this on tabletennis.tv?
