High Scoring Ends !

Played last night.

Having lost the first end 3-11 I ended up winning 25-23, 11-9, 11-7.

What high scoring ends have you had and did you win?

in the old 21up games, I won one end 34-32 and also lost an end 35-33. In the 11up games, I think the highest scoring end I have been involved in is a 22-20 loss

I was playing a county match and I was playing a higher ranked opponent. I was playing really well and all the games were close up into the fifth. I ended up losing the fifth set 22-20 from an edge! Thought I was going to take the ranking points. It was an epic game lol.

During the 21 games, I lost 36-34 in a nationals..back in 1986. Ever since the 11 games were introduced, the highest it ever went was 17-15.

Had a club match vs our club No1 player that went to 20-18, which he won of course. I had maybe 2 match points the whole time, the first was at 10-9. That says a lot about the winning spirit and percentages of the better player. The better players always seem to find a way to win and make their own luck. Relying on luck is a way to crash out big time, but being good and making their own luck stacks the percentages in their favor considerably.

I can't agree with you more buddy. You just have to play your game rather than sitting back hoping your opponents will make a mistake.

I once had some funny matches with some players at my club. We play games to 11 with king of the hill style matches. Once I did a recurring deuce game with the same player and we hit 29-27 the first match, 31-29 the second match, and then 32-30 the last match of the night. He plays with short pips so we had some crazy battles. Typically with me fishing, but the second game it was usually me doing the smashing and him doing the fishing. Crazy how some matches can go. Oh and I think I lost all of those matches, but still cool that we had crazy deuce games like that.

lost 24-26 in the fifth and final set once. It was the decisive match that brought our team to an 8-8 draw instead of a 9-7 win. Never felt that bad in my life EVER!

Do you know the counters that umpires have!
What is the highest number they have there??
What do they do if game goes further than the counter??

My teammate played 24-22 today when I was umpire, but the scoreboard only went till 21. So when they hit 21-21, I just restarted at 11-11. But I think most scoreboards can go up to 30 or 31.

During the Pro Tour this year, at the German Open one match had some crazy scores.
It was in the Women's Group Stage: Natalia Partyka (Poland) vs Sirin He (Turkey) 15-13, 12-10, 11-9, 28-26
A score like that is not often seen on the international stage. I even emailed the German tt association to confirm it, so my stats would be accurate

I played with a friend of mine in a school tournament and i won at 21-19 and it's fun to play like this, i always had points coz of serve and he had points coz of my weak defense...

On another note, 2 of my team mates playing doubles against the KL City Council 6 years ago. In the 5th set they were leading 10-2. So I walked off to see another match thinking the match is in the bag. A few minutes later, one of them was standing behind me watching another game. I shook his hand and said, "well done". He said "what for?, We lost the match in deuce!"
Nowadays, I still give him grief whenever we meet for a drink.
