1) He actually mentioned that with his last video, people said he sounded arrogant. Lol. I think I read the thread here. Some people did give him a bit of hard time in that regard but I hope he is not offended. It is nice to have a pro interacting with us on this forum!!

I didn't want to touch on this, but I think for TTD members defense, I never though he will stay for too long.
he has a very busy schedule and always coming up with new ideas (it seems) and probably stop some other project.
The past 2 years (since his retirement), he has probably done over a dozen different works/jobs/projects.
So if you do the maths, its all short term basically, unless he is still concurrently doing everything simultaneously - which I highly doubt.

base on what he is currently doing, he surely won't have the time to chat on forums.
so he probably did what he said, came to forums to hear what people need, so he can know how to help amateur club players.

but I don't think he has the time to be here to chat with 1 to 1 or 1 to many. Probably best is for forum members to seek out for him on his platforms and see if he would be able to chat there.

This is what he list as work experience on fb. Life coach, fitness coach, table tennis coach, to name a few.

He is Australian WHO worked with China camp. He didnt want to put himself in Europe and learn some knowledge from German coaches where table tennis is most popular in Europe. He would have problems with some 3rd Division players like Jeet Chandra or ex top level players like Kuba Kosowski or Petr David.
I dont wanna judge him because I am grateful for content but he thinks he is Bobby Fischer for the table tennis in Australia but he is not. He is not Benedek Olah for us.

As I stated in his thread already. Being a good player does not automatically mean you become a great coach. What worked for him to become a world class player, may not work in 99,9% of all the other players in the world. So it doesn't help to always point out what he has done. I'm not keen on reading/listening or get video records on his bio pic. I want a coach that is willing to see, understand and derive the right measures for ME to get better (in that limited ability corset, that was given to me).
I'm not a follower of the "you-can-achieve-everything-if-you're-only-work-hard-enough" type of philosophies, this is why his way of phrasing/framing things, does not resonate with me. But he might find the right people to work with.

From his employment records, I would not derive that he has already found his next destiny, but hope for him, that he does.

William Henzell and Simon Gerada are both very humble and way more qualified for representing the table tennis icon of Australia.

William quietly works away from table tennis, yet his name gets registered for 1. Bundesliga German league every year since his retirement (legacy get lived on still haha), While Simon is being a proper coach, and grooming next generations to be champions and Olympians. Spent a lot of money to build his center - Loops too.
Loops is also basically the Australian national training center.

I didn't had the forunate to meet William
but I sure did meet Simon and affinity many years later with me hosting 2 of his players in Taiwan last year.

I almost met Heming, but he was late for our appointment by over an hour and I couldn't wait and left. (he was probably going to be late for 2 hours and didn't had the courtesy to inform me and I was like an idiot waiting in the parking lot of his club in melbourne - the club was closed in the morning but he said he will be there and cool to meet me that morning, so it was just me, myself and I in that empty parking lot)

Regarding coaches:
If you want to be special, the most obvious place to go to is yourself…
If you don’t go there you are probably just gonna be like everybody else…

Something seems abit off, insincere about Heming… filming in his full Aussie uniform, constant name dropping, PR spinning like WTT but script further optimised by the highest alpha GigaChad at his Pick Up Artist forum I mean The Attractive Man.

Or am I just jealous? Maybe his hard sell PUA tactics worked too well on me and all I can think of are failed pyramid schemes and staying scamming aware around his content.

I must admit I also find him arrogant and dislike his way of communication, so I did some research into his results based on the curiosity.

My conclusion is that he was very very good player - something in between Regionalliga (4th division) and 3rd Bundesliga in Germany. So, more than capable of coaching others.

Was he a word class? sorry, but quite far from it. He will have a hard time making national team of any country in Europe where table tennis is at least a bit popular.
Even though he participated in many WTT and ITTF events it’s really hard to find him beating anyone if event is something else than Oceania thing.

My 2 cents.

Cheers

he only ever played in 1 WTT event, and lost first match.

2022 Singapore Smash, Singapore (SGP) HU Heming (AUS) DESAI Harmeet (IND) MS Qualification QR64 0 - 3 5:11 3:11 8:11 DESAI Harmeet

at least it wasn't a total walkover against WR80 player

i'm not sure if he will survive 3rd bundesliga,
maybe as a no 3 or 4 player, certainly not the main players (for those who don't know, the top 2 players play against opponent top 2, and 3 and 4 play against the opponent 3 and 4. So strong vs strong, weak vs weaker players)

I do it to protect my blade from mild to moderate table edge hits.

My thinking is I would much rather a damaged rubber that can be easily replaced rather than permanent damage to a blade.

It’s also less of a hassle to peel off the rubber from the blade.

I think the other way. You expose your blade for catching on table surface while pushing. I ripped a blade like that. Using edge tape I think is better…
