Hurricane 3 Boosted

This user has no status.
Hi I just recently boosted my hurricane 3 national at 39˚ hardness (not neo) and a hurricane 3 soft 37˚ (neo) and although people say wait 12-24 hours, somehow the booster dissapeared after 30 min? is that normal?
Also, how long will the booster effect last for? Ivermectin reglued my rubbers twice on my blade now (H301z) and its already splintering.
Also theres a lot of edge overhang and idk how to fix that. it is cosmestic mostly but i dont rlly like it.
Is ther any like solutions (or explanations) to these questions?
Thanks

For the Non-Neo I would say that this is normal. Neo with the factory glue layer still on should take longer.
Did you put a second booster layer on? If so than that layer should take much longer to be fully absorbed and the sponge feels dry again.

Also, how long will the booster effect last for?

Weeks to months. Depends on the booster, number of booster layers and the amount of booster per layer.

Sorry to say that but H301Z has a koto outer ply and DHS koto is known for splintering quite easily.

Scissors or if there's enough overhang use a box cutter or scalpel to cut.
Edit: Try on old rubbers/rubber remnants first to see if the blades are sharp enough and/or lubricate the blades a bit with oil or soapy water.

DHS blades seem to splinter quite easily when removing rubbers. Consider sealing the blade next time it doesn’t have rubbers on it (Joola or rev3 varnish/lacquer for example). If rubbers are hanging over blade from rubber expanding, you can cut it but be careful if it pulls back so maybe be patient and don’t cut too close.

I usually wait 8 hours, but it depends on if you put a thin layer or a thick layer as well as of where you live at has high or low humidity.
Depending on how much you play per week it can last from a few weeks to months until you feel that you lose "booster effect".
I had used H301 2 years ago and it does tend to splinter so removing the rubber slower is an option as well as applying lacquer to the blade.

two layers of haifu seamoon. 2nd layer took around the same time. 30 min. but maybe slightly longer for abbout 15 minutes. both of the rubbers were already glued on prior to boosting. i tested them for about a week before deciding to boost. will the splitners cause much damage or change in the feel or durability of the blade?

EXCELLENCE OF MINDSTOCK.

You cant play the game unless you apply laws of physics in practice, foremost take up the summation of vector velocities.
V = v + 2V
Mental versatility is the key, Rubber is merely a piece of cured tree gum, known as rubber thermo vulcanizate. Heh 🎉

Did the rubbers had a significant dome 1) after the second layer? If not than you probably applied really thin layers of boosters. That's not bad at all and for sure not overboosted. Just play with them for a while and decide if you like the feeling or if the effect is not strong enough.

Splinters: depends on how many splinters, where, and how large. Small/tiny splinters are usually not a problem. A picture would help to see if there is any damage or not.

something like this and the rubber would return to this shape if pushed down

it was flat until i picked it up. like after the booster dissapeared it was still flat until i picked it up, then it domed.
i liked wiped the brush on the lid area where it screws on for about 1 minute and then appliedd. waited till theres was very little left onthe brush

like both rubbers are already on but the overhand is kidna crazy but not hanging off enough to use scissors. i also dont have any scissors that are able to cut rubber easily. i have like a box cutter but its not sharp enough nor do i have new blades. i might ask my coach or club to see if they have sharper tools.
edit: also when cleaning my rubber, with a cleaning solution and sponge, it makes a high screeching noise like hight pitched sqeal but does that mean its cleanin well and the surface is fully clean (even when theres liquid on) or does it mean its too much friction and like wearing away the tack from your rubber?

Also one more thing, how long will my rubbers last assuming i boost only once and i play maybe 3 hours casual play (maybe with friends who know how to play just rallies) + coaching and another 3 hours once a week (1 hour coaching)? my intial plan was to use these rubbers for a year. but after reading some forums im not too sure...

I haven't found the boost effect relate much with play time. I've boosted (well, re-boosted) one before and didn't play with it and it wore off after a few weeks anyway. Topsheet will look bad very quickly, but actual play quality can last a good while. This does correlate with how much you play and how hard you hit, so that'll vary widely depending on the individual. Higher level players not only wear out the topsheet quicker, they also have higher demand for topsheet quality so they might discard the rubber when lower level players may not even feel a difference.

The bad looks doesn't effect the playing characteristics. There is a certain degree of degrading in the beginning but it gets less and less. I easily use my H3 prov 39 a full season.

A trick to get the sheets to stick better:
Clean the rubber with water or cleaner, stick the sheets on just when the rubber looks dry. There is still a tiny bit humidity left and this will help it to stick.

As early as possible but after the rubber looks dry…

Then use your fingers to press out the air. From the center going outwards…

Step one is to breath-wipe your rubber often using your hand. You don't want dust! Also, the oils on your hand are imo the secret ingredient that keeps the topsheet in shape.
That doesn't mean you should be playing with dirty hands though, as you don't want to rub filth and grease in.

Step two, when it's already pretty humid, wipe on your shirt instead provided it's a smooth polyester shirt like most sports shirts are.
Do not wipe it hard! You aren't sanding the rubber are you? Just gently wipe the moisture off.
If your rubber is dusty, breath-wipe it off with your hand instead. Always try to get dust off gently.

Step three, when you are done, clean up (however you like, I usually just breath-wipe) wait until it's almost completely dried and put the cover on. Rule of thumb: only one thing should be sticky, either the cover or the rubber. Not both. Using non sticky for both is fine even if it doesn't hold together much.

Step four, store. Keep your stuff away from UV, heat, cold, anything that rubber in general doesn't like.

And that's it! There are hundreds of tricks, rituals, cleaners and whatnot but the basis is common sense: don't scratch, don't let it dry out and protect it.

I think i once tried to like leave some moisture on the rubber but like idk why but the next day whern i used my racket again there were weird marks on the racket presumably where the water (or cleaning solution) had been. this happened on a hurricane 8 btw.

ill try this tomorrow. i usually dont use my hand or shirt tho cuz like it leaves weird marks on it if i wipe it with my breath. but ig it might just be cosmetic and not like performance altering. (i assume). it just doesnt stick well on the edges of the rubber so like maybe after a few months the entire top 1/8 of the rubber doesnt stick anymore. like it's just completly smooth

Yes this happens if you put the sheets on when it’s too wet. But I wouldn’t worry too much about it it just looks bad but don’t do it too often…
