Hey Christine,

not many women post on this forum. Great to have you here.
Don't get scared of a little rough tone every now and then.
I guess if more women would post here, most guys would behave a little better.
;)

Well anyway. Hope you enjoy yourself and have a great time here.

Hi all, Rafal from Poland. I picked up TT when I was 10, played a bit, then gave up for more than 20 years. Now I'm getting back with it, hopefully it's not too late ;) Hope to reach satisfactory level again before turning 40, still got 1 year to go. Keep your fingers crossed!

It is not too late. :) It is never too late to have fun and enjoy table tennis. But at that age you can still get up to a fairly decent level. I started at 44. I am 51 and I am at a fairly decent level in spite of starting at a fairly low level.

Hi All,

I'm Rock. I am strictly an amateur, but love the game and have a good bit of natural aptitude. I've always played at friends' houses, schools, churches, etc. I did get a chance to play when I visited the Philippines and beat a few of them, so I might have a little skill. Most of them had an unfair advantage; being eye level with the table!

I have a laundry list of health issues and decided Table Tennis would be a good low impact alternative to playing tackle volleyball with people half of my age and weight. I found a group about forty-five minutes away that plays on Wednesday evenings and I am excited about going tonight. It's been nearly two years since I last played. I hope to immerse myself and play often and improve regularly.

I was going to introduce myself but im scared to now as i may be exposed by the members here on you tube if i trolz.
Im actually a famous porn star.

Welcome to the forum, there are so many different styles in this game and I've yet to see this porn-star style of play that you're ready to introduce to the sport.

Ive never actually posted in this thread so here goes

1) Introduce yourself to the site
A) Lets just go with Shuki
2) Number of years playing
B) Just over 3 years of play.
3) Club/team play for
C) Kansas City Table Tennis Club https://www.kansascitytabletennis.com/

Our club is pretty new but it's expanding extremely quickly. We've only really started about 6 months ago but have already developed in quite a few ways. Holding a 2-star sanctioned tournament, establishing ourselves as a non-profit organization that's made around $5000 in revenue to help expand the club.

4) Best achievements
D) For tournament's I've yet to win a sanctioned tournament but I've won 8 different non-sanctioned tournamnets. 2 of which had rating requirements. Non-winning achievments I would include would be what many players would consider an equipment expert. I've worked for various table tennis companies, and am currently a representative for two more table tennis companies (as of 2 weeks ago). For our club I'm known as the "welcomer", the person who welcomes new players that walk in the door and hits with them for a bit. I find out what they want to get out of table tennis and their general level. I'll teach them a bit if they'd like to learn the basics of the "correct" way of playing. But if they end up being good I'll guide them to a table around their level.
5) Ect
E) My goal is to get good enough to be a coach of sorts myself. I already help teach new players but I would like to be able to get them further in the game than I do now.

Hi all,

I registered a short time ago, but didn't notice that there's an 'introduce yourself' thread, so a short introduction here ;).

In general I've always been interested in sports, but haven't been practising any for a while. Some friends of mine were playing table tennis, and despite it seemed a fun activity to me, I didn't really think about playing it myself. But a short time ago I started reading and watching video's about table tennis and I got pretty enthusiastic about it, so I decided to give it a try. I did some research and Yasaka Mark V rubbers seemed really suitable to me for starters. Regarding the blade, an AR blade had my preference and eventually I ended up with a Donic Bloodwood Senso AR blade (apparently there's hardly any information about it). I'm practising for about six months now at my friend's place. Recently I also went to a club and noticed that it's even more fun since there's no space limitation. Actually I also concluded that table tennis can be pretty addictive, I often can't wait to play again :D. Other tings I like to do are mountainbiking, playing games and watching series/movies.

So far for the introduction.

Cheers :)

Hi All

I'm a longtime member of several TT Forums but have just turned up here.
I got interested in TT in the late 60's, when Nobuhiko Hasegawa won the Worlds while the Chinese were having their Cultural Revolution. Since then I've been fascinated by the International game and its characters.

I've always played, mostly for fun inbetween my work (pro musician) so I still try and play with friends weekly. I used to be an offensive attacker, these days I love to chop and confuse.

But my main interest in TT is the history of the game, about which I know a lot, especially the International game. I've nearly finished writing a book about the history of the TT World Championships from 1926 up to now...but whether it will be a book, a website or nothing at all, I don't yet know. I'm a bit bogged down in the years since 2003 - mostly because what is there to write to make 15 years of total Chinese domination more interesting?
I keep a big database of World and European Championship results, but there's still plenty to unearth. Also collecting films and footage of those Championships - YouTube has been a godsend over the last 15 years for seeing the great games of the last 50-60 years.

Hi everyone, I'm Milos, 38, and I've been playing tt recreatively since 2007/08, but 2011 is when I really picked up the tt virus. I'm a founding member of an amateur tt team called SENECTUS, which competes in local (Novi Sad) recreational league Restlins. Last season we took first place in Restlins 2 (2nd league out of 7), and in the upcoming season we'll jump head-first into the crocodile pond which is Restlins 1 (where pros also play). I try to play/train tt as often as possible, but in reality that usually sums up to 5-6 hours a week.
I've stumbled upon this forum a year ago, but didn't actively follow it until Chinese Trials for Kuala Lumpur in January, and man did I enjoy watching ttlondon2012's videos! Since then I'm a regular podcast consumer, the one featuring Marcos Freitas being my favorite.
I love table tennis and I hope that I'll be able to play and watch it as long as I'm alive.

Hi guys,
I've joined this forum about a week ago and haven't really contributed since then but I'm hoping to change that:)
I've been playing for as long as I can remember because my father is also a tt enthusiast who started taking me to the gym with him when I was still very young. Since then tt has always been my greatest passion even though I enjoy doing plenty of other sports and activities.
My biggest succes was in my early teenage years when my team and I won the highest league in our federal state in our age bracket as well as the south west german championship. When puberty finally hit in full swing I started taking training less serious because girls and all that seemed more interesting wich resulted in me falling behind my teammates. Now I enjoy just playing the game especially close matches.
Looking forward to having discussions with all of you:)

Hi all, my name is Kharis from Indonesia (table tennis is quite popular here but only for recreational sport). Been playing for +- 2 years, no coach, only recreational play with my friends using campus table. Best achievement, if it's considered as one, I think when I get 2 sets (best of seven) from one of the best guy in my department.

I love watching table tennis match, especially when Chinese play. I don't seek for some achievement in this sport, only for fun, that's why I don't join any club. Oh and I'm a penholder, was using shakehand but I feel more fun using penhold style.

Manish from India

1) Introduce yourself to the site: I started playing when I was just 6. We found a book in garbage and setted up table on wooden dinning table, prepared net with a thread and newspaper, Hard Book Covers becomes our bat and bought couple of local plastic small balls. We saw Table when we played our first tournament. We bought very very cheap bat. So I will say we were self made TT players hailed from small town and played in best of the best sports stadium in coming years. It was long journey.
2) Number of years playing: 30
3) Club/team play for: University, State
4) Best achievements: University Champion and Captain, State player for many years at sub juniors level.
5) Ect: TT keeps me young and fit. I coach kids and adults free of cost that gives me immense satisfaction.

Can I become world champion if I again start seriously between age of 35-45? This question may be funny for many of you however people like us who came from background where sports were not the top priority and facilities were expensive for them can understand my wish.
