Since all the other cups are over, let us move over the forgotten continent:

results:

Mehdi Bouloussa upset Yousef AbdelAziz 4-2 yesterday.
Stephane Ouiaiche (formerly of France and 2-time French Singles Champion , who played one of the greatest TT rallies of all time vs Freitas) faces Omar in one SF while Quadri faces Mehdi in the other.

Enjoy!

Omar beats Stephane
Mehdi beats Quadri

Finals:
Goda vs Meshref for the umpteenth time
Omar vs Mehdi (should be a good one as Mehdi beat Youssef and Quadri and took two games off Omar when they last played)

BTW, with Mehdi and Stephane, Algeria has a strong team and should contend for some things.

ITTF-Africa Cup Benghazi 2026 is a table tennis competition held from 7–9 February 2026 in Benghazi, Libya, and organised by the Libyan Table Tennis Federation (LTTF) under the auspices of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and the African Table Tennis Federation. It marked the 24th edition of the Africa Cup series and was staged in Libya for the first time. The tournament prize money was TBC.
The event featured men’s singles and women’s singles events.
Winners, finalists and semi-finalists in each event qualified for the Men’s and Women’s Singles World Cups 2026.

Qualification for the tournament

Each African association may enter two players in each event, with the exception of the host nation, which is entitled to enter four players per event.

In addition, the holders of the ITTF-Africa Senior Cup from the previous edition are qualified:

Men’s Singles: Assar Omar (EGY). Women’s Singles: Goda Hana (EGY)

Format

The competition was played in two stages.
Group stage: eight groups were formed, with matches played in a round-robin format within each group.
Knockout stage: following the group stage, 16 players qualified for the knockout phase (the winner and runner-up from each group), where all positions were played out to determine the overall champion. No third-place matches were contested.

Continental qualification system for the ITTF Men’s & Women’s World Cup Macao 2026
  1. Each continent is granted the opportunity to qualify players through its Continental Cup.
  2. The winner, runner-up and semi-finalists of the Continental Cups of Africa, the Americas, Asia, Oceania and Europe qualify — a total of twenty (20) players.
  3. An additional twenty-four (24) players qualify based on the world ranking.
  4. If the host association already has a qualified player, the additional place(s) will be allocated according to the world ranking.
  5. The last available ITTF World Ranking at the time of publication of the initial invitations (Week 8 — 17 February 2026) is used to determine the qualified players.
