I don't think it's safe to say WCQ beat someone because he has a training partner that can mimic specific players.
Who do CNT have to mimic Hugo anyway? It's not that.
It's that if WCQ plays anyone 10 times he will win at least 7 of those games and that's because he's just better. That's talent and insane work ethic.
The CNT do have resources of course and it probably is the no1 environment for any player to maximise their talent but that's what the rest of the world are completing against but the world's top 8 isn't 8 Chinese pkayers!

There isn't really anybody to mimic Sora when he is red hot.
You could argue that FZD comes closest but even then, Sora has an untamed aggression that FZD developed beyond a long time ago.
Harimoto, the way he played to beat WCQ last yr, maybe but possibly an unbridled Felix is probably closest and WCQ figured that out anyway.
If you watch Chinese documentary, they often find training partners from the provincial teams, which is a lot more diverse vs the national team. For example, if you watch the Chinese national game, you’ll see a lot more play style from many different provincial teams.

Shin keeps holding her elbow, not a good sign.
WTTC 2026 will be a marathon and have the most hectic schedule in decades. How many will fall due to fatigue and injuries?

Shin didn't prepare for the BH serves before the tournament it seems but WMY's definitely feeling the burn from yesterday's match. Big problem for WMY if she's not winning the rallies which is her forte.

That is really annoying. There should be a rule about it. Toilet break maybe, but shirt change definitely should not be allowed.
If a guy wants to do a shirt change then he should do it out in public. I can understand why the girls need to change their shirt out in the back away from public view.

Shin is clearly good at singles. It will be interesting to see the countermeasures.

The players you throw shade at (Sabine, Sora, Satsuki, Shin Yubin, etc) seem to come up with some amazing results. I guess you throwing shade at players is sort of a reverse indicator.
Tiebans will just say Wang is losing to prevent Winter from entering the top 10 or something like that. Shin can do it, but Wang has to have a down day. Shin actually has a better chance against Sun than Wang to me, because Wang's backhand is harder to penetrate and Shin has the backhand game to try and get in vs Sun.
Please tell that to the KTTA officials and coaches that told reporters that SYB was overrated. Odo isn't even qualified. Winter is lucky AF. Matsushima is finally doing everyone's expectation justice after years of JTTA's favoritism/nepotism and one of a few players doing the right thing - not wasting time on the T.League or TTBL except for CTTSL which is actually far more beneficial to his growth as he said.

If it were not for Diaz draining CXT (the latter pointed out she was going to give up that game where she was trailing), SYB would likely have met the same fate instead.

Talks of SYB "having bubbles" (being overrated) have died down a bit in KOR after Paris 2024 but the fact has not changed that many KNT coaches aren't convinced.

That's the softness of his game that he said he's lost. For those shots, he needs to receive with the FH by turning the corner to exert pressure on the other side.

I have real-life experience with that. I visited a university club in the early 2010s and played 2 members there (a quiet night), winning the first one (inverted penhold twiddler with LP) in 3 games and losing the second one (single-side inverted penholder) in deuce after 4 games. The second guy told me after the match that he should've lost because of his grip (inferior BH) but he noticed that I never stepped around to receive with the FH the whole time and that gave him room to breathe. I didn't tell him that that's the whole point I switched to shakehand but like what Liu Jiayi said about European players, my footwork had become lazy and my table tennis "philosophy" took precedence over making the opponent uncomfortable.
