The entire event is a joke.
well, I think it is a nice event to meet and see some of the different countries developing players.
you don't get to see them at WTT events, but here they at a world cup and having a good time.
Can't say the same for those in China's group

Just treat it as spectating WTT Feeder event. Or WTT Youth. Be happy!
I disagree.
Feeder or Youth would have very random winners, due to the possibility of close match ups, even when CNT is included.

They should just have this kind of event for teams that don't finish top 8 or top 16 in World teams champs
and make it like 32 teams.

The USA vs AUS encounter was good for example.
2 similar level teams, both whom don't really have much WTT or international game time.

This way, countries like Malaysia, and other "tiers 2s" will make it an annual event that they all fight they hearts off for to win.

Now you have CNT and KOR with full force present with 80% of the participating teams sending development squads.
guess who is going to be in the finals (spoiler alert)

I treat it more as an amateur vs. pros event lol. It was great watching local players like Hwan Bae going up against WCQ and almost taking a set, or Zhang Xiangjing going up against a WTT regular like Nick Lum!

Great job by Sid Naresh taking a set off of LSD yesterday! I'm actually surprised by how many players team USA sent to this tournament. I guess it's a nice experience for the youngsters, Jessica Reyes and Sid Naresh definitely got the best luck on the team, getting to play SYS and LSD respectively.

Hmm, IDK, but flights to China is pretty cheap right now. You can get them round trip from California for ~$1000. For people living in the bay area where many of these kids are from that's chump change. Sid Naresh delayed enrollment to UC Berkeley to pursue his TT career, which I'm sure required financial support from his family so paying what would be like a week's rent in Fremont to go to China and play LSD is probably worth it.

yeah, but 1000 here, and there, and 20 trips
its not cheap.

there is prize money though, but that suppose to be salary, not expense breakeven if you know what I mean.

TRUTH TO SAY --VAPID SPECTACLE TO WATCH.
Insipid spectacles to disappoint viewers, no pubblic roaring. Re-watching Paris olympics is the best lovely entertainment for me. Paris superlative spectacle to all others.

To my surprise they got absolutely smoked by Romania on Thursday. That was more surprising
well, the Romania's have played this format before.
out of all the teams, Romania is pretty much the most experienced top lot

The Romanian doubles pairings is probably more regular too.
most of the teams, are probably pairing for the first time in Chengdu
