It is common that the best players might not show up for WYC

For example, Taiwan's number 1 U19 boys (WR3) isn't there too.

Looks like Park Gahyeon was the heroine of the U19 GT winning both of her matches to take the title over Team Taiwan. Taiwan has a couple of really good players: Yeh Yi-Tian and Cheng Pusyuan. Yeh Yi-Tian has star potential. She is very stable and has a mature game. I didn't realize she was just 16 years old until I looked it up.

S. Korea is the champion of course, beating China in the SF and Taiwan in the Finals. They are doing amazing. But Taiwan also has a very strong pipeline of females making the finals of both U19 and U15.

Yeh has been a senior team member now for 3rd time (2025)
she missed out in 2024, and was on in 2023 and 2022, in other words, when she was 14 years old, she was beating senior team members in Taiwan.

She is a future prospectus for sure and now Chuang is looking after her himself.

Cheng has been a top wr junior for a long time too, herself, 2025 being her 3rd time in the senior team.

On the talk of Taiwan, 2 U15 team members also made the 2025 national senior team.

Wen Ruibo Oh Junsung will be a good quarters to watch. Coton and Huang Youzheng in the round of 32 is robbing us of more matches from one of them, both who deserve to get past the RO32.

U19 BS Quarters predictions:
Oh Junsung Wen Reibo
Nicholas Lum Yuhi Sakai
Huang Youzheng
Bhattacharjee/Sareen
Redzimski Bertelsmeier

Takamori (2008/5/15, 1 month and 1 day older than Harimoto) was 3W1L against Park Gahyeon (2007/8/18) before this and it has always been close (3-2, 3-2, 2-3, 3-1).

Takamori and 5 others are in the same generation as Harimoto and they will turn 20 in 2028. This will be the most contested Olympic period in JTTA's history.

Redzimski is hot, but Bertelsmeier has impressed me thoroughly.
