they number 1 and number 2 didn't deliver
if Taiwan had the main 4 there, it could easily be a 3-0 win.

Hsu has improved a great deal - taller and stronger.
Guo is more smarter now
and Wen and Li has plenty of match experience now, but they also have a fair amount of losses.

and on the womens side, Jade is a good player, but to take out Qin is not possible.... luckily for China U19 girls, they made it to the next round

Still dunno what happened with Qin against Jade, but fair play to the latter.

WRB is just not consistent enough. LHC needs to play more seniors. I think China needs to invest a ton of training and development in these two. WRB and LHC might be the only best options China has to compete in the late 2020s/early 2030s.

I would agree with this though i can understand other views. Li is young and just got to this level. I really dont understand how Sun Yang remains relevant given his style but somehow he does, maybe there just isn't anyonr else. Wen should have been expected to win two matches if he was as dominant as he should be.

That said, Taiwan has given them trouble in Asian Teams before this so it couldn't have been unexpected. Also China does have years when its talents cant win these events. 2015 or whichever year Jang Woojin amd Liang Jingkun were in the event comes to mind. This is just one stage on the path to the promised land.

Sun Yang impresses me as a chopper and can honestly be the best male chopper in a few years if he isn’t on Team China. He seems destined to be a practice partner to me, of which that is a great shame. And I looked at the senior World Rankings, only Huang Xunan (17) is ahead of SY in the ranking for Team china juniors, so I’m guessing there is just either no one to replace him, or China really want to develop a chopper onto their team.

I expected a close match between Taipei and China, especially with Kuo and even more so if Chang was there. But I am surprised that only SY took a match for China, and that WRB did not win both of his matches in which I would probably expect him to win given he is Chinas top junior. And I agree with the point that China’s youngsters have years they don’t win these. I don’t think they can beat Taipei’s (proven lol), Korea’s (Kim Gaon is better than WRB imo and the other Koreans can flip flop with the other Chinese), and Japan’s (without Sora even, Kawakami and Yoshiyama can beat LHC downwards and even maybe WRB) youngsters.

Some of these CNT players flame out and some get better on a different time table. Ruibo also had that injury where he hit the table but he should have recovered from that given National Games and all. It might be a new era but how Liang Jingkun and Jang Woojin ultimately reminds us that we should be patient until we see it. The special generation was special but China over time develops its top team like no other country does. Let's see whether the result holds in singles as well

Lol. China used to refuse to have teams at this age level. In the end, most of what makes these players stronger happens in later adolescent years after funneling lots of players through.
