Chinese women’s doubles pair out. Chen Xington and Qiann Tianyi. 9-11 in the last set against the germain pair. That last pont was amazing, fitting point to win the match. Sabine’s forehand is insane in the women’s game. Very good for double.

This match made my day, especially after the disappointment from men's singles earlier. Sabine is in top form and the double with Wan is working out great too. Just last month they barely lost 11-13 in the decider vs Odo/Yokoi, i'm so glad they rewarded themselves with a big win this time around. Some really clutch rallies at the end there, fun match to watch.

(Wan Yuan is not strong to begin with. This WD pair mainly relies on Winter. Wan Yuan's role seems to be to use raw pips to enhance the weirdness of the playing style)

Ionescu is very good - so are a few other of the young Romanians. Tough break for Kanak having to play a 7 gamer in the late evening and then immediately turn around another match the following morning.

Anyone know what happened with WCQ racket before the match. Even Calderano was looking at his own racket as well and look like there was something wrong with his racket as well. Did the umpires removed the rubbers from WCQ and Calderano before the match?

How true is the 48 hours rest though. I believe Kanak is only playing singles whereas Eduard playing XD and MD as well. Has it really been 48 hours since Eduard last played a match?

I have no idea but I am currently watching a match and things don't seem right with another player's racket as well. Very weird,

I just don't know why they don't have back up racquet and a back up to the back up? They're all sponsored with unlimited supply of equipment. So they should have multiple set ups they can use at any time.

True - Ionescu's last singles match was earlier on the 17th.

Doubles is not nearly as draining as singles.

Of course they have multiple rackets there, it's just risky to play a different one to the tested racket, but WCQ did actually switch. If it fails after the match it will be a loss, Adam said that the racket passed during the next match though.

I’m not a fan of the umpires removing the rubber to check if racket is legal. Can’t they tell if the blade is legal by doing thickness and flat test with rubbers on? No need to remove the rubbers and can clearly see the sponge of the rubber outside since WCQ doesn’t use edge tape.

Why did the umpire remove the rubbers from his blade in the first place though?

I swear WCQ has a ton of bad luck when it comes with his racket.
