That's what I'm countering here. You're using build up time when I was talking about match time in the main hall.

JNT players don't have to waste as much time getting used to the secondary hall, so where is your scrutiny?

Yuan JN was warned by the umpire to not spin the ball in her high toss serve.
there was no spinning as the tossing hand was textbook and super clean.

can't remember where I saw the clip, but the level of umpiring is really terrible.
hope someone can find it and post it.

I don't recall calling her overrated. I do recall saying something to the effect of She found the one tournament where there were no top Asians ... referring to her winning the 2021 Contender Tunis. Her ranking had fallen since then, but if she's worked on her game and improved, then I think that's fantastic!

the coach - Wang, actually was asked by reporters if his choing will affect LYJ in negative way.
and he said, he actually did ask LYJ if he can make noise and if it will affect him. LYJ felt it was fine, so, now Wang said one of his main job is making sure LYJ gets heard

Yes, you can say that and start growing in your own eyes. But, she could have done that the first time Annette did the illegal serve, If she was bothered by the service. It was clearly about disturbing the opponent, as after that she was wasting time on her service and asking for a different ball... On the other hand, among top players, there are some "unwritten" fair play rules, like not complaining to the umpire about the other player service or whatever (I’ve umpired a lot of matches for top Eur players before, so I can tell you this).

What if she did not see it or was not sure? Maybe attack the cheater instead of the player who caught the cheater?

Sure, because they all cheat (except very few like Vladi or Timo). But the ITTF started working on this, and the unwritten rules are changing as we speak. There is no point invoking them.

I keep remembering the TTD interview and I am very happy for him, he kept talking about how one good tournament can get you out of qualifiers and into the main draw at more events and it looks like this event is going to do it for him.
