He beatz Jorgic consistently on the Bundesliga. And he usually does it after going down 0-2.

I know we've been talking about overrated or not athletes, the ones that should win but don't, or the ones that win too early, but I've said countless of times Jorgic was overrated. A very good top 20/Top25 player that's for sure, but to me he does not deserve that ranking anymore. Togami is a really good top 10 player since the last Olympics and his Bundesliga season indeed, there were no possibilities for me Jorgic could go higher than those rounds of 16. Too limited with his tactics, FH topspin too lame... low IQ player.

Three times Jarvis served wet ball. Interestingly, the wet ball didn't affect his serves. I guess the water didn't come from his hand. My theory is the sweat dropped from his forehead to the top of ball. When he serves, as long as he doesn't spin the ball with his toss, he would be able serve the dry side and send the ball over the net. Then, the wet side would meet Liang's rubber.

That's actually one of the old dirty tricks in table tennis, wiping sweat from the forehead with the free hand and then serving. The opponent almost always ends up returning the ball into the net or his side of the table. I don't think Jarvis did it intentionally, he was just sweating a lot.

I think the opinion is harsh. Competitive play is Competitive and thin margins that drive wins and losses shouldn't be used to insult players. Jorgic is a very strong player and he could have won this match for sure.

The reason Odo/Yokoi are the highest-ranked is exactly because their other teammates and pairs from other associations didn't value the doubles before this. Count how many pairs don't even have 8 eligible events. Odo/Yokoi are WR1 in name only. Losing to Sato/Hashimoto in 3 games at WTT F Fukuoka 2024 popped that bubble.

It was pretty clear he wasn't doing it intentionally when it happened the first time and Jarvis immediately agreed to a let service when LJK showed him the wet spot.

Jorgic should get a pat on the back for getting past 2 top lefties, indeed the leading figure of the interim generation.

Oh, it meant a lot. Jorgic got those wins over those players (also Moregard) when he was top 10 between 2022 and 2023 which added weight to his WR. European table tennis was going through a transition period, during which he served as the leading figure of the interim generation (ML actually named him specifically) not unlike Ma Wenge and Wang Tao when CNT was at its weakest in the early 90s before the generation of KLH and LGL. Jorgic is like a wall that other players must scale to prove their worth, a touchstone, so to speak.

Calderano played well but Aruna was so weak! He seemed really tired, not motivated, missed all his backhands,... Not a great game at all.
