Good comparison. Hugo is the younger aggressive Fan with big shots from both forehand and backhand minus some refinement.
The current Hugo fears no one, only control master Ma Long may be able to make him uncomfortable. Not sure did Hugo ever beat Ma Long?
Hugo has won 2 ... sets against Ma Long in 6 matches. Not a great achievement tho.

Mima is still in the great form this year and this might be her cleanest game yet against such a high ranked opponent. 4-0 against CIC is not something I was expecting.

When she's consistently landing those Mima smashes she's really hard to beat. Really noticeable improvement on the BH too as CIC was targetting her there desperately trying to avoid the FH. Mima was giving her those dead pushes and mixing in those flat BH slaps too.

Hayata is the only female player in recent memory to have beaten two CNT players in two consecutive WTTCs. Most recent record of a player from another association beating CNT in WTTC women's singles is 2009, with KOR doing nearly all of the damage.

2009
R128: Park Y. Sook (KOR) beat Yao Yan 4-3

2005
R16: Gao Jun (USA) beat Cao Zhen 4-1
R32: Moon Hyun Jung (KOR) beat Wang Nan 4-3

1999
R16: Ryu Ji Hye (KOR) beat Yang Ying 3-0

This is not what they experts say. She beat easy to beat Chinese players not the very best. So she is just doing the minimum. Trust the experts.
