Just Boosted H3, 1st Time

Hello TTD,

I've never boosted a rubber before, but last week I applied 1 layer of booster, waited 24hrs, applied the second layer, waited 48hrs for the rubber to flatten more, then glued.

The first layer didn't dome the rubber at all. It wasn't until I was applying the second layer that the rubber started doming immediately, in my hands. Is this normal?

I now understand why it's illegal, though.
The rubber became very responsive, and catapulty while maintaining the tackiness.
I played with an unboosted H3 for a year, and the difference is night and day, it's a totally different rubber; almost hard to control at times.

Perfectly fine, especially when you didn't use much booster on the first layer.

That's not why it's illegal though. It's illegal because there is no way to monitor what you use to boost, and the idea behind banning speedglue was to ban harmful substances.
Replacing that with the option of using a harmful substance directly on the rubber just doesn't make sense.

You're perfectly allowed to use a rubber that's very fast yet tacky

first layers don't always dome. there is a lot of of sponge to eat into, and depending on the amount of oil + the thickness of sponge.

and the ruling is, can't do anything to the rubber, so that includes rubber cleaners/sweat/water are all chemicals that are treating the rubber.

For us to be 100% clear of the rule is also impossible,

I saw Chinese players using boosted rubbers in training, so how do they competitive without it ?

many players use boosters, it isn't only Chinese.

the ruling is not enforceable, and it is okay for rubber companies to put boosters on.
so the problem isn't the rubber having boosters, but rather, some people don't want players to do so because of some "unfair advantage" or what ever other theory

Don't see the problem with boosting, if you do it with harmful chemicals they are detected like speedglue.
Anyone can do it if they want it's not some topsecret formula only pros can get.
Just have the max thickness and let people do whatever they want.

Mikael Appelgren and swedish news (SVT) asked a bunch of swedish pros if they boost and I think 90%+ said yes they do, but want to be anonymous. Then some of the national players Anton, truls and kristian said they didn't. But I would guess most of them do or they get them custom directly from their sponsor.

Happens all the time with H3. The sponge drinks the first coat like water, the second one makes it wake up. Once you start boosting, it's hard to go back!

I can't believe I played with an h3 or jupiter asia 3 unboosted for over a year.
I can finally attempt a forehand from far away lol
