Sometimes, I went 50km on the subway to get to a club I never been to... so no problem longer trips for you using the subway. The city busses and the subway use the same card... and you can recharge them at any time at any convenience store, many are open 24hrs.

Your problem is that there is not a train station near your Uni. Sure, you could figure out what bus goes to nearest station (HanSeong) then get on subway one stop (SeongShin Women's Uni) and walk a few hundred meters... that would be best.

You could also just get a bike and ride there, but think about it... you ride 3 km on Seoul city streets 1000 times... the chances of you getting wiped out are unacceptably HIGH in my judgment.

There are a few "Takku-Jang" south of you and a little closer, but those are places for purely recreational players.
